The Hollywood Reporter claims to have a short list of 5 actors being considered for the role of Spider-Man in the upcoming reboot movie. Newsarama posted the info and thankfully added headshots of the actors to help illustrate just how awful these choices really are. Seriously – awful.

Thomas Dekker from the terminator tv show would make a good Peter.
I don’t think these choices are all the bad. Better than Efron, Or the jacob or edward from Twilight. Better than going older and getting some big hollywood name. Better than some kid from a nick show. Lets give them a chance. It may not be that bad.
I’m not playing this game. I’ll wait on some more official word, and I’ll complain then.

Why do people hate these choices? It seems like it’s based on their looks, when it should be based on their acting chops. And yet a big point people seem to be making is that no one has heard of most of them. Soooo….what is the basis for saying all of these choices suck?
Uh, I don’t see what the problem is with any of them. I can’t remember, did people view Tobey Maguire with the same tut-tutting when he was cast?
I can’t see any of these guys playing Spider-Man. When I saw Logan from Percy Jackson I thought he could play Spidey.
the only marvel movie i have enjoyed was iron man 2 and thats only because i couldnt stop perving at scarllet johanson’s and gweneth paltrow’s legs and tootsies.

I don’t know what the fuss is about, really.
Tobey Maguire didn’t look or act like Peter Parker in the original films, yet, now that a reboot has been announced, he’s like this god of cinema.
Personally, I’m giving the casting-directors the benefit of the doubt… lately, they’ve been hitting the nail on the head with these casting choices and I’m excited to see who they choose for Spidey… even if I don’t think a reboot is necessary at this time. 😛

i’d say the guy from the imaginarium of dr. parnasses is the best bet…….but still not hopeful.
Out of all of those, Hutcherson is certainly the best. I’m disappointed to not see the Percy Jackson star on the list.
Why, most of theses are way too old to play a high schooler, especialy since they surely want to release more than just the one film. That can’t be the short list
I have no hope for this reboot to be any good.
