Here’s what we know about the new 2010 Spider-Man video game.
1) It’s called Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
2) Dan Slott is writing it
3) Christopher Daniel Barnes is voicing Spider-Man. He voiced him in the 1990s cartoon.
4) More information will be unveiled at Wondercon in early April.
5) Here’s an image for the forum at Hero HQ. It seems to support the theory that multiple Spider-Man personalities will be in the game. Spider-Man: Noir is in this image.

Unless it’s going to be a made up dimension instead, I’m 90% sure the next will be 2099. “Past – Present – Alternate Present -Future” I’m guessing. The only problem with that is if they are going to make all the version “Peter Parker”, having Miguel might make that awkward (there were already 2 crossovers between them too, weren’t there?). Here’s hoping for Spider-Ham dimension!
I’m betting at least one of the two other dimensions will be Ultimate.

I hope Activisoin knows what we really want is to play in the Spider-man Unlimited universe
I’m really surprised it took 11 comments before someone screamed MAAAAAAARRRRYY JAAAAAAAANNNNEEEE!!!
Honestly I’m going to tread lightly with this game while I liked spidey noir and love barnes as spidey I just don’t know what to expe t story wise slott is a decent writer but I’m concerned if he can write a spidey story that spans spidey’s of different ages. I’m gonna give it a shot though.
Well, from what little I’ve heard of this game (and there’s not that much) the game not only seems to involve alternate realities but also time travel. So having the “Noir Spider-Man” as a playable character fits since he’s supposed to be from a world that takes place in 1933. And it also makes me believe that Spider-Man 2099 would be playable since he’s from a world that takes place in the future. And the fourth, I’m guessing, will be the Spider-Man from the Marvel 1602 universe. I also hope this means that the various levels take place not just in New York but also the various Spider-Men’s different worlds for you to swing around and explore in, not to mention fight enemies and bosses from those worlds.
I hate to say it, but after the pleasant surprise that was Batman: Arkham Asylum, my expectations are high. Especially after the stuff Activision pulled with Infinity Ward. Sorry, but it’s gonna take a lot to make me buy another Activision game right now.
I’m thinking of going to Gamestop and reserving it today. Only thing is, I can’t decide whether to reserve it for the PS3 or the 360.
OH HELL YEAH!!! Maybe a Little Spider-Hulk Action. What About Ultimate Pete.
Perfect excuse for BD to interview Christopher Daniel Barnes on the podcast!
I think that Ben Reilly and Miguel should be in the game dammit!
If they put Spider-man 2099 in the game, I will buy it full price even if it’s in the 6.0 review range!
I’m probably as big a fan of Miguel O’Hara as Spideydude is of Ben Reilly.
Christopher Daniel Barnes is back!!!! That shows HUGE effort!!!!
YES!!! YES!!!! YES!!! HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!
MAAAAARY JAAAAAAAAAAAAANE!!!!!!!!
CDB is voicing Spider-Man?! For the first time in twelve years?!
**** it, I HAVE to buy this now.
If their doing the Spider-man Noir universe, maybe they’ll be doing 1602 or even MC2 universe.
Spidey 2099 would be awesome! I have high hopes for this game, especially because the CEO of Activision seems to be putting the whip to his employees!
makes me wonder if we’ll see Spidey 2099!
some gaming sites are also reporting teh following:
(in the new game) Fans (attending the Wondercon in early April) will get a side-by-side look at the collaboration of old versus new, dive deep into an exciting new universe never before seen in Spider-Man video games, and discover two new villains in the upcoming game exclusively at the panel!
it seems Spider-Man won’t be contained to one central city. Fans are told to “prepare to be surprised with the unique, unexpected worlds Spider-Man will adventure through”
i am really excited that the talented Mr. Slott is writing the game.
i dont have any problem with Christopher Daniel Barnes voicing spider-man again but if it were up to me i would have definetly chosen Josh Keaton.
since Activision has announced that recent spidey games suck, perhaps they are going to do redeem themselves with this one and maybe that is why
they have hired Mr Slott
I absolutely loved the Spider-Man Noir mini! 🙂 And I agree with the point about the ps2 version of web of shadows. That game was so disappointing I almost threw it out the window. But I hope this one will be better. Oh, and btw, is Dan Slott a good writer? Cause I haven´t really read much of his comics, but I´ve heard about people who have, and there seems to be pretty mixed opinions on it. But maybe it´s different writing a script for a video game, I don´t know, what do you guys think?
sweet barnes back as spidey! that coupled with the comments made by the company a while back point to this being good.
classic SPidey and Noir SPidey but can’t make out other two
An elseworlds Spidey? This is a WIN for me, solely based on the returning Barnes as SPIDEY! I hope that if they do make this on the PS2/PSP (gotta get me a PS3!) that it isn’t the side scrolling abomination Web of Shadows was!
