For years people have been misspelling Spider-Man’s name, many spell it Spiderman. However in a recent post on Twitter Stan Lee set the record straight. He explains the hyphen is there as to not confuse Spider-Man with Superman.

UGh. I guess I’ll prob have to sign up for this twitter stuff, juust for this. This is really Stan writting these himself, right? I mean, it sounds just like him.
@Captain Cheesesteak – Are you kidding? That guy posts 10 times a day! That day had an unusually short amount of tweets, IMO.
Stan is hilariously funny, though. If you are new, though, you might feel a little lost about his talks of conquering the world or starting his own nation.
That’s the only reason I’d join Twitter.
but I don’t want to.
Can you guys just post all his tweets here as a monthly feature?
It’s old news though, Stan has been saying this for years. But it’s cool he’s on Twitter too. I am following his every tweet.
i have been following for a while now. its all gold. get in now so you can be part of his POW brigade. lol. ALL HAIL GERNALISSIMO!
Now you have proof, Brad!
It’s always bothering me, too!
If I had a Twitter, I’d follow ya’ Stan.
Stan Lee’s tweets are always pretty funny.
Stan Lee has a twitter account? that’s awesome.
