Actually, Sting of The Scorpion WAS to be the second episode, but at the last minute they changed it to The Spider Slayer. This messed things up in terms of continuity because in that ep Aunt May mentions she’s invited MJ over for lunch as part of her matchmaking ploy. At the time it had aired, Peter had already went out with MJ. As for THIS ep, I liked the adaption of the origin, though AGAIN we could’ve used some kicks and punches rather than wrestling throws on Spidey’s part. And WHY COULDN’T THEY USE TEENAGE, GLASSES-WEARING PETER PARKER?! They should have shown GROWTH in regards to age. It looks like he was frozen at his mid twenties during his high school years. Only Chris Barnes’ narration saved this sequence.
This is the episode that turned me into a diehard Spidey fan. *sniff*
Marvel site airs it as Fox and the other networks show it, maybe the rumor that “Sting of Scorpion” being the real second episode is just a plain rumor
Isn’t this episode 5? Didn’t we miss the Scorpion episode as episode 2?
