From "Amazing Spider-Man" volume 2 (darn reboot) issue 14. Can we all agree to pretend this never happened and I never posted it?
Some didn’t like "Secret Wars II" or the way it disrupted all the Marvel titles. Although it was excessive, if it wasn’t for the series we never would’ve been able to see Peter Parker toilet train […]
“Amazing Spider-Man” issue 99. Peter finally stands up to Jonah Jameson and earns himself a non-freelance staff position at the Daily Bugle.
This took place in "Amazing Spider-Man" 146, the midst of the first clone saga. Aunt May tells off the person who would one day become Venom.
Galenwolf, apparently Strazinski was FURIOUS at this cover since this scene did not take place anywhere inside the comic.
Oh wait, was this a Sins Past or Sins Remembered cover? Can’t even remember who wrote the second one.
Wow Pete, first Mattie, and then Gwen’s daughter Sarah…. http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/1/15776/655457-sarahstacy_super.jpg
well, that was weird idea. In retrospect, perhaps the ‘changer of worlds’ idea wasn’t so bad after all, though there was no reason to renumber the book. They build these unreasonable expectations and that was one of the problems, it’s the same problem now… times a million.
Byrne is responsible for this picture/story – it was the first issue of the reboot that he himself wrote. But Bendis is the one that took Maddie’s character (after her Spider-Woman series got canceled) and turned her into a hooker.
To Berserkfury819,
because apparently this post has had more responses than any other Spidey Memories post. Go figure.
… You honestly expect me to believe that Bendis is solely responsible for this? And Byrne didn’t have a hand in it?
“Oh, Peter, thank God the love of your life is dead. Now you can be happy!”
Wow I hated her from the get go. And this issue was actually the first time I wanted to throw a comic book out the window.
ah…the memories
Why are we posting bad spider memories?
Frank unintentionally did Karen a creative favour. Nobody gave a rat’s arse about her before hand
Writers rule #156 If you have to write a story about a character you hate, turn them into a Hooker. For examples research Brian Bendis, Frank MIller…
Ah Bendis…back when you were getting into fans good books by giving bad status quoes their just desserts…then two years later you wreck The Avengers and X-Men in one fell swoop.
Sigh.
nothing to turn a guy on like reminding him his wife just died!
Okay….awkward. And actually Bendis made her into both a hooker and a junkie in ALIAS. She then appeared again in another series. Can’t remember the title. It also involved other would-be teen heroes that get tother for an AA-like meeting to make sure each other wasn’t getting back into the heroes game. Retarded if you ask me.
Wow, her saying Mj dying as mean’t to be was so insenstive and cruel. I glad I never liked her. didn’t bendis turn her to a hooker?
I think you’ll find Maddy was 14 during that story. This issue was the nadir of the reboot. BND hasn’t come close to being as bad as this.
Great Power and Responsibility, Great Power and Responsibility, Great Power and Responsibility, Great Power and Responsibility…..
with the powers that they have….the positions they could create…..(of course, she is, like, 16 or something…)…hmmmmmmmmm…
