Dan Slott has his own channel on youtube and posted a video about his excitement for Amazing Spider-Man #600 getting released this week. My favorite part is when he starts showing his Spider-Toys.

Surprise! You definitely covered this subject well. Are there other options that i will need to check out?
Happy belated birthday…Glad that Dan is living out his dream job, not too many people get to say that.
Clearly he has a passion for all things Spidey, but it looks like he prefers the Marvel Team-Up kind…if Spidey is in it, it’s cool.
In addition to the FF, perhaps Dan can take over Ultimate SM if Bendis leaves. Those titles seem more his speed and would allow me to enjoy his style more thorougly.
He ran!! Quick! Someone accuse him of something else!! Get him back!!
600, a huge milestone. Unfortunately, of those 600 issues, 252 (or 42%) don’t count anymore. It must be really awesome to be able to have your dream job Mr. Slott. I wish I could be along for the ride.
And I think I just realized why Spidey/Human Torch appeals to me…it’s not Spidey, it’s JOHNNY. And “Face Front” only works whenever The FF play off Peter…Slott ought to consider taking over FF soon…I truley think he’s suited for the cosmic and the fruity insane reality-benders than the urban virsimilitude and everyman draw of Spidey…his imagination is too fertile to be grounded like that.
I’m sure if he’s on a title that plays to his strengths, I can get past a lot of my problems with his ASM work.
I am always pleased to see somebody so happy with their career and clearly overwhelmed with their accomplishments, I smiled through the whole thing. Congrats and best wishes to Mr. Slott!
I’m ranting:
If the marriage comes back into continuity,
Than I’m all in for brand new day.
If not, I’m dropping the title. (Not a boycott, this reboot just hasn’t been fun for me. Especially since Peter has been stuck in a bubble since it started)
They’ve got the most iconic couple in comics media next to Lois lane and Supes and they threw it in the trash. Why?
The worst part is that before they chucked it, they made it out to be the best one in the M.U.? Why?? =(
It’s not just about the marriage. It’s the fact that Mj has been his girl in every media and thus it seems pointless to get rid of that so Peter can date around.
I’m just 20 years old and I jumped on board with married peter. It’s not what drew me, but I loved the fact that he was a great role model. He shouldn’t be an everyman. He should be an example of what everyman should try to be, and after all those years (agree or not) since issue 122 Mj was written to compliment that. Things might not go great at first, but if you keep trying there is some pay off. I used to love that message in the books. . At least that’s what they said to me.
His situations do not have to be parallel to mine for me to relate to him.
And now that writers have been clamoring for so long that the NEED a single peter parker. What do they do with him? Nothing. Harry (same age as peter) has been divorced 3 times. That should age Peter in itself. lol
These books are getting way to silly to follow anymore…..
But hey I’m just a handsome dork sitting at his computer ranting because it’s hard for him to ignore the skewed continuity.
I wouldn’t rant so much if there were better things on t.v.!!! lol.
I probably did misinterpret that part Dan…I think you were just giving me a pep talk at the time on how each era of Spidey is unique and that once, you were writing a pregnant MJ when starting out, now you’re writing your dream job and your dream Peter, and everything isnt permanent etc. That’s what the PM was about…just a “chin up, stay positive, all things come back around” deal…it didnt apply to whenever or not you would be involved.
Nice collection of Spidey cars…I used to LOVE those. Almost took an eye out playing with a die-cast Batmobile.
Well. I can really appreciate the enthusiasm Dan has for the work. I only wish he would be a little more considerate of the pro-marriage view. It took away what good will I had from the interview. This from someone who actually liked #600.
When are you gonna go back to She-Hulk? Taking you off that book was a big mistake. You made it so readable.
Whoa! Do you have a copy of that PM? Because I’d love to see it. Me talking about my favorite animated Spideys? Sure. But I have no recollection of ever telling anyone that the marriage should/could/might/etc. come back. I think there’s a strong chance here that you read something INTO or misinterpreted something I said. Because there’s no way I would have said that.
I’ve disagreed with ALOT of his characterization of Peter Parker thus far.
But He’s a great guy.
Seems like a big ol jolly Spider-claus. heh =)
He sounds more enthused about his Corgi collection!
This is the Dan Slott more people ought to see…I’m reminded of the man who P.M’ed reassurences about the marraige coming back one day on CBR and talking about his favourate animated Spider-Man series. I might ask him to supply a list on there actually
he seems like he’s very enthused about issue #600!
