The wait is finally over folks! Crawl Space's first full arc, "Spider-Man Black," has officially begun! I pretty much thrive on your comments on these issues, so please comment early and often and let me know all your thoughts in as much detail as you can stand!

And if you haven't read the issue yet, check it out here now!

Ok, I totally wasn't expecting the will thing. Totally awesome all the way through. Can't wait to learn more about this Black Spider. Quick question, is Black Spider's (BS hehe) costume designed like the symbiote suit, a black regular suit ala Spider-Man 3, or something different?

Bravo Kev [smilie=spidey_clap.gif] . You have me intrigued as ever, I love the concept of the faceless man, I can just hear Ron Pearlman's voice coming out of that ugly mug too lol.

The will of Norman, Peter gaining the power of Oscorp, Harry cleansing the world of all the other Goblins, and this new Spider...can't wait for next ish.
With great power there must also come great responsibility.

Thanks musicfighter, I'm glad I was able to surprise you! As for the costume, it's the good old cloth version of the classic black costume. Though when it's drawn for a cover I would be open to either artist's suggestions for updates, so I won't set that absolutely in stone. But at least basically, it's the classic cloth black costume.

You can never dissapoint me Kev, you are constantly kicking up your stories a notch as you continue on. I'm just lucky enough to get to read it. I can only hope I can pay you back in the future with my Spider-Man series.

Also, whose voice do you hear coming out of the Faceless Man, am I the only one who hears Ron Pearlman? lol

I have a guess on who Black Spider might be, but it's probably too obvious. Oh, and Harry creeps me out more this issue than last.

Who the hell did that artwork for issue three's variant? It's gorgeous.

This is the kind of development only Norman could spring on Peter...no doubt it'll raise eyebrows from "everyman"-loving pundints (hell, even I am scarsely a fan of this kind of thing, it puts MJ in a posistion she needs a break from) but Peter adapts to any situation, and MJ's been around bigwigs in the modelling and acting gigs, so who knows what she can offer in support. Puts her on par with Liz, and I'm expecting character interaction with them on a different level if and when the oppertunity arises

Norman being wry, to the point, with no smarky comeback? Awwww....at least Harry went BOOM in his testiment.

It's great to see Menkin back, a guy whose been undervalued a lot in ASM has Peter virtually under lock-and-key

I love the interaction with Peter and MJ, it feels authentic, and the two are acting more like a married couple on a cusp of their late thirties, resigned to one another and knowing both can pull through anything. Not sure what Norman hoped to accomplish in spite of this other than veer a few roadblocks in Peter's direction, but that's all they are now.

At first, I thought the Shadowed figure was Harry, but it's obvious there's more than one enemy raising the stakes in the wake of Peter's surrogate mother and aspiring "bastard father-figure", both slain, and Peter in the belly of the beast

The people claiming it is stale only show the lack of imagination they have, as the character is returned once again to 20 years old...wow, we never seen that before. Keeping the character relevant? Please. Maybe it is time to create new Marvel Heroes, instead of destroying and retelling well-worn old stories.

Um, you say you want Killshot back but then you kill him. AAAAHHHH!!!! WHAT?!? Love the variant. Oh man Harry's going to France kick some ass. SWEET! Menken returns. Yeah. Deadato, nice with that. Oh man the Black Spider sounds kick ass. Plus next issue looks like it's gonna be awsome.

Rating: 4/5 Webs.

Unfortunately I won't be able to have my full-review up until the weekend Kevin so I'll just give a quick review for now.

LOVED this issue. Peter been CEO of Oscorp had me floored. I totally wasn't expecting that. When I seen the will been read on the variant cover (which was f'ing gorgeous artwork. Well done scooter) I just thought Norman would reveal Spidey's secret identity (yeah I know. Very obvious...as was alluded to in the story).

Glad to see Menken back. Is he back for good as a regurlar supporting cast member? Please say yes otheriwse you'll miss out on writing some great interations between the two. I can see Menken trying to manipulate Pete from behind the scenes...tee hee can't wait. As far as I'm aware he doesn't know that Pete is Spider-Man. Am I right in assuming that?

Also loved the Faceless Man. Throughout the issue you've been dropping hints about the Faceless Man's indentity. He HAS to be somebody we know right? RIGHT? And know I know where the title of this story arc comes from (Spider-Man: Black). The BLACK SPIDER. I have to admit when I first read this scene it reminded me of the introduction of the Black Tarantula. Hopefully they turn out to be totally different characters.

Well I guess this was kind of a review. But as I said I'll put up the proper review during the weekend where I'll discuss the pros and cons of this story (yup I found cons....but they were only little ones) :)

I'm not a lawyer, but I've never heard of a CEO appointing someone to a job posthumously. Giving Peter the controling share makes sense, but I don't see how he can appoint the Vice President in his will, at least in a way that has any binding force. If Peter doesn't trust the guy, I don't see what's keeping him from firing him.

Generally, though, a very interesting issue. Having Peter become the head of Oscorp is genius, and it makes a ton of sense.

I really did enjoy this issue Kevin, as you place Peter and MJ in a very interesting position with Osborn's will and his final request for Peter.

I also thought that Harry trying to confront his "siblings" idea was a brillant move as even I can't wait to see how he'll react to seeing Gwen's children. [smilie=greengoblin.gif]

Still this Black Spider is one interesting villain and it would be great to see just why is he targeting people that close to Spidey.

Please do keep up the good work on this great series so far, becuase I would love to see what would Peter try to do, I mean he been through one deal with the Devil already, would he do it again to become one ?

Also LOVED the varient cover to this issue, i mean it had a real old school feeling to it. [smilie=spidey_dude.gif]
