Inspired by that, I began the naming ceremony from the film. If you haven't seen the film - then really, WTF? Shame on you. Here's the trailer.
Once the pledges are accepted in a ceremony is performed where Bluto Blutarsky (John Belushi) gives them their new fraternity names. Such as Pinto and Flounder.
It's not a process that is taken lightly. Bluto studies each face and consults with powers so great that they are beyond mortal understanding. Then he says the name. There is no argument over the name. It is written in stone for all time.

In the spirit of mutual interests, friendship and camaraderie, I will now be giving any and all anti-OMD/BND posters here their own Delta Tau Chi names. All you have to do is request it in this thread. I might suggest we start putting it in signatures to show solidarity, i.e. "Delta House Member Badger." We will also be co-ed because... well because girls are cool.
Some may think this is exclusionary and that it disenfranchises the pro OMD/BND faction. And with good reason cause it does. However this does not necessarily mean that the pro OMD/BND faction are Delta House's arch nemesis, the Omegas. That would be too politically incorrect, honest and warlike. So in the interest of sunshine and warm puppies I instead humbly suggest that the pro OMD/BND folks create a famous fraternity of their own, such as Lambda Lamda Lamda from Adams College in the film Revenge of the Nerds. The Tri-Lams were very cool, mind you.
So step on up and get your Delta Tau Chi name here. I will name you in the thread and also edit this post to reflect your place amongst us.
EDIT - 8/24/09: Due to the overwhelming popularity and general all-around awesomeness of Delta House I can no longer keep up with membership requests made in the overall Delta House discussion thread. EDIT - 6/08/10: Absolutely DO NOT request to join Delta if you haven't read or aren't familiar with the Crawl Space Message Board Rules. This board isn't a 'Thunderdome' type environment like Newsarama, CBR or an Aint It Cool News Talkback. When we disagree with the current direction of Spider-Man here we do so without name calling writers, artists or editors. Criticize the work but do so civilly and without personally insulting others. Also - as Deltas we do not disrespect the Admins or Moderators who do the work on running this forum for everyone's enjoyment. That's grounds for me removing you from Delta at best and disciplinary action by the Admins at worst. I cannot emphasize this enough, folks. If you're not okay with abiding by the rules of the Crawl Space forum then Delta's not for you. By requesting to become a Delta you're telling me that you've read and understand the Crawl Space forum rules and that you'll be respectful to the Admins, Mods and your fellow Deltas and Crawl Space forum members. I shouldn't have to even re-emphasize this since by joining you should've already familiarized yourself with the rules to begin with.
EDIT - 6/09/10: From now on there'll be a two week wait on becoming a Delta for new members to the board so they can have time to become comfortable with the board's rules and community and see if they'll be a good fit or even if it's what they're wanting out of a message board. Exceptions can be made for those who want to join who've already been on the boards for an extended amount of time. This doesn't mean new folks who want to join Delta cannot post on the Delta thread - they absolutely can. Especially since Delta membership is not a requirement to post on the Delta thread; we welcome everyone.
EDIT - 6/159/10: Quick heads up. There is no such thing as "off topic" for the Delta thread. Conversation will segue naturally from one subject to another depending on whatever Deltas are talking about at any given time. If you don't like the current discussion then slip in your own comments or subjects to shift the direction naturally.
