Also, Peter’s thinking that Lilly Hollister, Harry’s girlfriend, may have the hots for him makes me think that the reason Marvel is so anxious to have a single Spider-Man is so they can live vicariously through him.
That's for damn sure. And it's been obvious since waaay back in the day when Quesada became EIC and started talking about how much he hated the marriage.

I posted about this a couple of times on different threads here and it's 100% true. Stan's Marvel, Shooter's Marvel... Hell, everyone's Marvel up until Quesada/Jemas was an inclusive family that made readers and fans feel welcome. That's gone.

Slott's said here that Wacker's been trying to make it feel more like Stan's Marvel in BND and I will take his word for it since I'm not reading it. But BND itself, like OMD before it, is an extension of Quesada's "Just STFU and give me your money" attitude.
