Wow....That's troubling on several levels. It's a bit of a meltdown, isn't it? I'm sorry it came to that, but I can't help but get the impression that Mr. Slott may have some....underlying issues. It's a sad fact that to be a public figure invites trolls and unwanted commentary and you need a thick skin to have the role, and I'm sincerely sorry his personal data was posted ( certainly uncalled for by any standards) but this response is a bit pyroclastic.

I agree that authors should have thick skin when it comes to criticism of their work, but that's not what this is. Intimidating him with his phone number is probably criminal and it apparently affected his health and his job since his dentist and agent could not reach him. That has nothing to do with commentary on his work. The Avengers thing isn't technically as big a deal but it probably tainted something he's been waiting his whole life to experience. I don't blame him for being pyroclastic any more than I would blame any other victim of stalking and intimidation who happened to not be a public figure. Whoever did these things to Slott is a pathetic, miserable person.

I think beating Transformers 3 will happen within a week but I'd be shocked if Avengers ever tops Avatar's 2.8 billion dollar theatrical run.

Same here. Avatar had the advantage of being in theaters for freaking ever(if I remember right) and pretty much demanding to be seen in 3D and IMAX, which are what, twice and thrice the price of a regular ticket, respectively?

I'd be very happy if it did happen,though. Anyways, my friends and I will be giving the Avengers some more money.

Finding Nemo was also in theaters forever, so Disney might allow The Avengers to stay in theaters long enough to top Avatar.

Another factor is that Avatar was released in December. Avengers is coming out at the beginning of the summer and it'll have a parade of blockbusters competing with it. That's going to prevent it from being profitable if it stays in theaters too long into the summer because people are going to buy tickets to see Spider-Man or The Dark Knight Rises instead of going to see Avengers for a third time. Avengers will stay in theaters for as long as it is making money but I doubt that's going to be long enough to make close to Avatar's money.

There's also Battleship. It looks like crap but that didn't stop Transformers 3 from making money.

Prometheus is the film I am most looking forward to this summer. Men in Black 3? Two was one too many. Amazing Spider-Man? I'll see it but my hopes aren't high. DKR? I loved the other Nolan Bat movies but for whatever reason I'm not feeling the excitement.

The only way its topped Avatar is in its first and second weekend gross. It has not topped Avatar's total for its entire run, not even close.
