The YouTube video is already set to play at the 55 minute mark.

EDIT: It's on the front page anyway.

Well, Drake Bell is not great but not bad. I miss Keaton.
Only part I really liked was the Doctor Doom rhyme, made me laugh out loud actually. But overall, I did enjoy what I saw. Except for the SPidey bike.... MJ/Sam/Peter love triangle potential?

I think it looks at all good.

Spidey turns into toast. Really?
Picky but I don't like him calling Eddie 'Venom, considering how they were friends in Ultimate U.
Drake Bell sounds a lot like Keaton but not as good.
It's nice to see MJ but she has the Immonen design which I never liked. She looked much prettier under Bagley's pencils.
A motorbike? I hope it got trashed when that Octobot thing hit it.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series

It looked ok. The animation looked good and the voices weren't horrible. I don't really mind the humour as I love the fun silly Spidey stories like the Marvel Adventures comics. My only real quibble with the designs is that I don't think Spidey or MJ look like teenagers they look like college students to me.

My big complaint is that this doesn't look like a USM show with its tone and the type of stories they're supposed to be telling. USM didn't have wacky humour like Spidey turning into a toaster (or Spider-Ham), JJ wasn't hounding Spidey on the TV (which did remind me of the 90s series J3 communications bits), and he wasn't going out and fighting Dr Doom. It's not really an Ultimate Spider-Man show as the name is of a specific alternate universe not just a general Spidey comic. It'd be like having a Spider-Man 2099 show but instead of Miguel it was about Peter being thrown to the future and had to find his way back. If you're going to name something specific like that then you need to get the original feel down and not just make it look similar. A much more appropriate name would've been "Spider-Man: Marvel Adventures" as it references a comics series where silly stuff happened (they had a baseball game with Galactus and the Avengers in it) and it implies the wider Marvel Universe will be used in the series, like they're supposed to be doing in this show.

It's probably a small complaint in the grand scheme of things but it just bugs me.

I think the bigger problem is that he's called Venom. In USM he didn't get that name or the white spider on his chest and was just a big black monster that ate people (outside of Ultimates 3, but that made no sense anyway). Now I didn't expect them to use the Ult version since that's not really recognisable as Venom at first glance and they need these characters to be recognisable.

I dug it--I liked the cut-away to Peter embarrasingly sowing up his costume, it had some good humor. Didn't really give what the plot of the show is, but the tone feels right.

Actually, it did happen in both the Ultimate Spider-Man video game, and then later on when Bendis adapted/reinterpreted it. If I recall correctly,
the symbiote absorbed Carnage, which caused the suit to balance out, completing the look, and allowing Eddie to wear it without slowly killing him, since the suit absorbed Parker DNA.

I liked the trailer for what it was.
In my eyes, you have to be careful with what you nit pick in cartoons aimed at getting new fans.

I swear the video game continuity has been contradicted in the comics so that doesn't count. I can't remember the end of War of the Symbiotes too clearly but I don't think Venom was ever named or that he got the white Spider. I can't check my copy at the moment, though.

Eddie never got the white spider; when he absorbed Carnage, he looked like this:

Have they given an updated premiere date?

Also, I heard on a SModcast that frequent Kevin Smith collaborator Scott Mosier has written some episodes.

Corny, but I like Bell's voice on Spider-Man, though not his performance. Vaughn's performance is good

Joe Quesada talks Ultimate Spider-Man.

Now this is more of a fluff piece that's barely worth mentioning (though I laughed at the article title "Spider-Man & His Ultimate Friends" since Quesada tried to paint the show as something "different" than all the other Spidey cartoons when it's a blatant modern version of Amazing Friends.) However the main picture is hilarious and so captionable:

Doesn't Spidey just look like he's saying, "Hey, Joe, what the hell man?"

He does
Best thing about the release date of this -possible atrocity- show is me going back to train to get my motorbike license, after injuring myself last time for a month I had to pause
