Here's what I say about Black Cat and Spidey's relationship (keeping in mind that I haven't read all that much BC stories) My best friend and I can make plenty of sexual jokes and be really close but that doesn't mean I will get in bed with her. Or something like that. It's late, and I don't want to lose this thought.

#677 / DD #9 -- I almost have to imagine that Waid wasn't intending on using Spidey at all, because it really feels like Waid was just trying to fulfill and editorial mandate. I do LOVE the art on both issues, though, and there are a few funny moments, but yeah, the crossover was completely unnecessary.

On Black Cat--I should mention that one of you said that she started back up as a cat burglar during the Millar run. I only have the first trade of it, but I remember reading the whole thing and she wasn't a thief there--when we first see her, she's in Florida helping to find a missing person, and I think that might have been around the same time as a Heroes for Hire revival that she was part of. I think she only started to burgle again during BND.

She was a private eye in the 90's (starting in her mini-series) and it carried over into the 2000's. It's cool that they showed her doing that in those books but she also stole in both of them. I really don't know what more to tell you short of posting scans from both of them.

And Venom vs. Carnage was damn near non-continuity when it came to Black Cat, because she didn't even know what symbiotes were in that mini-series (apparently Peter Milligan never read Maximum Carnage).

The continuity for the past few years of her appearances hasn't made sense either.

Regardless of the circumstances (bringing down the Owl)...I said Felicia started stealing again before BND in 2004ish. I was challenged on it..and I presented my citations. If you wanna say it doesn't count then cool.
