At the End of Avenger vs X-Men they all gang up on Spidey and he beats their asses while getting out of bed drunk.

Didn't he have the black suit during Spectacular Spider-Man?

Also, what I think makes this Ends of the Earth thing different and why he might need the armor is that the Sinister Six's motives are bigger than what I've seen of them in the past. From what I'm hearing, their purpose is literally for world conquest, and I don't think a Sinister Six story's ever had that big a scope. Of course, everyone else's history/knowledge of the character is probably better than mine, so...yeah.

Actually Doc Ock's goal in both of the Sinister Six stories by Larson was ultimately world domination.

NO! STOP!!! THIS IS ALL NEW. UPGRADED. NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE. THE STAKES ARE HIGHER. NEW MOTIVATIONS. SCIENCE.

Ah. I haven't read any of the Larson stuff, so...touche'.

Has any of that been traded, by the way? Is it any good?

Return of the sinister 6 has a trade and also includes the annual they first appeared as a group in. Don't know if revenge of the sinister 6 is in trade though. Ive only read the first 2 or 3 issues of return so can't really judge that one but revenge is basically a mindless summer action movie type of story, its also typicla 90's fair as far as comics go. You might find it enjoyable if you go into it with that knowledge in hand.

The Michelinie-Larsen Sinister Six story is in the Marvel Premiere Classics:Sinister Six hardcover. The Erik Larsen Adjectiveless Spider-Man story is in the Revenge of the Sinister Six trade, which Was released in the 90s,so you might have a hard time finding it.

I've only read a few issues of the Adjectiveless story, but it's big dumb fun.

Jumping codpieces Webslinger! When Zach mentioned that...very funny.

I agree the trailer is better than expected, but I am old school, so the costume is jarring. Plus being a George Stacy fan, having him be the one chasing Spider-Man, instead of being fascinated in the situation, is a big downer for me. So we finally get George Stacy as a central character and he is really JJJ. Bleah!

As for if the next Peter Parker actor can be a minority, that can be done and I would not object. However, I am old school and my preference is to see the characters portrayed as they appeared in the source material, not only with race but also within their character, see my point about about George Stacy being JJJ. So, I would be more like BD, give me the character that we have seen.

With that being said, I am reading Ultimate Spider-Man with Mile Morales and am finding that interesting. A different take, a different character and I am totally cool with that...

Comics are bad for kids? Where have we heard that before? Oh yeah...in the 50's when Congress got involved and they "had to" create the comics code authority. However, it is my understanding the comics of that era did not portray adult themes in super hero books like they do now. (OK, Wonder Woman as a dominatrix and her "lasso of truth"...but I digress.) However, the adult or horror themes now are pervasive in most entertainment and that is why I find it ironic that it is "news" that they find these things in comics.

As a father, my kids get to read comics, but not the newer ones. When they get to be teens and they are still interested, then that will be OK, but not before then...

More serious topics this round, but still very enjoyable listen.
