Got the game yesterday, but I only started it a couple hours ago. I just finished the Kraven segment, and I have to admit, I'm enjoying it more than what I've played of Arkham Asylum.

Well, these are just first impressions, so they'll likely change once I get further along in the games.

I don't see it
One thing this game got better than Arkham Asylum is when Noir Spidey sneaks up on thugs and hit them, he makes them faint before they open their mouths, Batman keeps the guy screaming in his hands then lets him loose, I'm glad they didn't make thugs discover where I am by the screams of their pal

I'm only up to the part where you fight that first inmate the Joker uses the serum on. The story just started a bit too slowly for me.

For $20, you should really enjoy it. [smilie=spidey_thumbs.gif]

Really wish I'd waited until it was only $20...I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more.

"Whether Aunt May dies or not isn't the question. If she dies, does it mean anything beyond a brief sales spike because collectors/speculators think they'll be able to make a profit selling the book later? That is the question. Back when, Stan and company won our hearts and minds. I cared about Spider-Man and the other Marvel characters as though they were friends. I cared every time Aunt May got sick. That's what good creative work does."

Go for it. I've read enough reviews to know it ain't that great. But I'm far more forgiving of a crappy game for$20 than at full price

LOL
I found it very subpar, not worth of the praise plenty gave it, and a pretty huge step down from all the previous games, there are lots of surfaces you strangely can't cling on, and people who praised it complained about other games being repetitive, overlooking how extremely repetitive this game is, do the exact same thing 12 times in a row? Best Spider-Man game? BAH

I got this on Black Friday because it was $15. It was certainly worth the $15 and enjoyable, but it was not my favorite. I liked the Noir (just like Batman: AA) universe and 2099. I do feel like a lot of this was using Batman: AA as a model. Just think about the final battle
with Noir avoiding being spotted by Mysterio.
Oddly, I liked the Amazing Universe the least. I think it was the Krave world that turned me off.

So far just one level in and it's not too bad. I love the voices for Amazing and Ultimate. Not so much for Noir or 2099, mainly cause Noir sounds weird and I found 2099 way to much like Stan Lee. Gameplay wise nothing to dull, again only one level in, the only part right off the hop I found weird this is mainly with Kraven so I don't know how often it'll come up again, that first person boxing crap, literally just feels like a wrench in the works when it just shifts over.

Okay I'm all done ACT 1. So far my complaints have to do mostly with game play mechanics as the story has really left me meh'd, though Spider-mans dialogue is really funny.

For the worlds, I'm with Spider-girl with the view that Noir and 2099 are probably the more enjoyable ones.

I felt that Noir while clearly inspired by Batman still works different enough to make it stand out as I found that physcial attacks were quite weak forcing you to stay in the shadows and stealh enemys.

While for 2099 the freel fall sections were interesting, what I did find interesting is that both this game and Force Unleased 2 used free-falls as big game pieces. They were released a month apart so hard to claim anyones ripping off another. Other than that the only really annoying thing was the 2099's VA, just didn't like him.

Amazing and Ultimate are the only let downs for me really, mainly because they're so similar you could of dropped Ultimate and never noticed, as other than the RAGE system they are pretty identical with the character, this is highlighted in the tutorial already when they both make the Stick-em powers joke.

Gameplay wise not to bad, like I've mentioned I love the stealth mechanic and while similar to AA its actually an improvement specially with forcing you to stealth unlike Batman who can battle-tank the whole way.

The problems I do have is the Zipline and Camera. The problem with the Zipline ability is that you can zipline to just about anything which, while a good representaion of Spider-mans powers, is a pain in the ass for some challenges mainly in the Ulitimate world in the damn trying to beat everyhing in 4 minutes I found I was Ziping everywhere but where I wanted to.

With the camera the problem is with wall crawling and I guess controls here are wonky as well, as soon as you're on a wall the camera just doesn't flow a smoothly when trying to move it and controls I found were a bitch.

The last thing I'll add is more comment than anything. While I find the different worlds interesting, I kinda wish they really went the extra mile and developed a new world exclusive to the game, not one in the comics, but a fresh one maybe one that could combine play mechanics of all 4 previous.

In summary it's an intersting concept for a video game and actually a smart use of the Spider-man licesnce as I've become very interested in the Noir and 2099 universes. If DC is wanting a concept for a Superman game honestly I think something like this, 4 different worlds or what ever number they want, and you can really play with mechanics.
