"Hello darlings! It's me, the Pop Pumpkin Princess, First Lady of Snark and the Mistress of the Dark - Elvira!"

"Our fourth fight brings out the fangs as two powerful vampires go head to head. Guyman442 decided to sink his teeth into FSUSpiderFan, who accepted. Wait - that sounds wrong. Either way a challenge was made and it's an all boy vamp play date!"

"FSUSpiderFan decided to go the Pay TV route and took a vampire viking lawman. That almost sounds like a network pilot on Fox. Here he is, True Blood's ERIC NORTHMAN!"

Image

"In response, Guyman442 went with the main vampire baddie from the Fright Night remake... Jerry "Pretty Boy" DANDRIDGE!"

Image

"SO much beefcake, so little room! Hmm. Where or where could they fight? Well there's definitely a white trash element here, and even a gigolo feel as well. Oh! Oh I know! THE DOUBLE DEUCE!"

Image

"Once it was Missouri's Mos Eisley - a wretched hive of scum & villainy, with drugs, graft, violence and prostitution thrown in. But all that changed when a legendary 'cooler' named Dalton rode into town to tame the Road House!

"It's ladies night out in the Sticks as two power hunks collide against one another in a heaving mass of man flesh right in a backwoods white trash paradise! Catch me Ghoultown cause I might faint!"

Im not a big fan of the current wave of vampire obsession, so I have no idea who these people are. Ones a viking in addition to being a vampire? I guess that's something.

So this location is a great place for Jerry. The remake is placed right outside of Vegas and he uses this to his advantage. Jerry knows his arcitechture. When the family he's going after won't let him into their house, he digs into the ground with his bare hands and pulls up the gas line. He then proceeds to blow the house the f**k up. He loves to use locations to his advantage. He's also very durable. He was stabbed just nearly through the heart with a real estate stake (That was probably 12 feet long and many inches thick) He pulled it out and tore another character to pieces. More to come.

Eric will be right at home in this bar because he runs one in Louisiana. Eric was a formidable Viking warrior before he became a vampire. He then spent over a 1,000 years as a vampire kicking ass. He became the vampire sheriff of a district of Louisiana because he can kill most other vampires, so they fear and respect him.

Jerry is no where near as powerful as Eric. Jerry was taken out by teenagers. If you have not seen True Blood, then you might not know the speed of vampires in this world. Eric moves like he is in fast forward. Eric can fly which gives him another advantage in combat.

Here is a sampling of his speed, strength, combat ability.

Here he is easily taking down the Vampire Queen of Louisiana who is 700 years old.

Here is a display of his ruthless speed. He decapitates several humans with ease in the blink of an eye but Jerry was killed by a couple of teenagers.

Here Eric kills a powerful fairy before she can react.

Eric kills a werewolf

Eric rips out a hippy wiccan's heart in an instant and then sucks on it like a latte.

Eric rips a guy apart in the basement of his bar.

At 1:35 on this video Eric shows his superfast flight in combat.

Eric takes a silver bullet but keeps slapping around Bill. He is only stopped from Sookie's energy blast which Jerry does not have.

What's going on is the Collin Farrell vamp from the Fright Night remake is getting his ass handed to him by a 1,000+ year old viking warrior vampire from the series True Blood. Check out the videos to see what Eric is capable of.

Jerry found humans challenging opponents and was taken out by a couple of teenagers. Meanwhile, Eric dismantles humans in an instant like they are cockroaches. Eric has shown the ability to beat very powerful vampires. In True Blood vampires become more powerful with age. Eric is over a 1,000n years old.

Guyman seems to emphasize Jerry being resourceful. Eric is very cunning and tricky. Eric is a very successful bussiness man. Eric convinced Sookie to suck a bullet of him so he could have her ingest his blood and have influence on her. Eric went undercover with his most hated opponent and convinced him he was on his side until he had an opportunity to hurt him. Eric also tricked a much more powerful vampire Russell Edgington to go out in the sun to defeat him.

Actually, Jerry was taken out by a teenager and a man who was played by a Doctor Who actor.

Who, by the end of the film was playing, for all intents and purposes, Doctor Who. With a Stake Gun. Yes, a gun that shoot wooden stakes. Doctor Who with a stake gun and a really smart teen is a bit more than the Mystery Gang.
Not to mention that in this version, Jerry creates an entire army of vamps that these two are fighting.

I'll get to the rest in a while.

Sorry I forgot about the cowardly vamp hunter who finds his heart. Just because the actor played Dr. Who doesn't mean a damn thing. He wasn't Dr. Who. Jerry is not armed with a stake gun.

Jerry will also not have an army of vamps on his side. He is mano-a-mano. Really the fact that Jerry and an army of vamps was defeated by a few humans isn't helping your argument. As shown in the video, Eric slaughters humans like they are nothing. The crew that took out Jerry wouldn't survive a minute against Eric and yet Jerry was taken out even with a crew of vamps on his side.

Unfortunately, Guyman, I haven't seen the new Fright Night yet. (I'm waiting to rent it on Blu-Ray.)
I HAVE seen the original multiple times, however. In fact, it's one of my favorite vampire movies ever.

I also have never seen True Blood. I was under the false impression that it was a Twilight-inspired cash-in.
 ...I guess I was wrong about that!

Judging by the clips FSU posted, I can not only form my opinion about this match, but also have come to the conclusion that I DEFINITELY need to check this show out. [smilie=spidey_thumbs.gif]

As for my opinion, here it is:
Unless Jerry got some MAJOR upgrades in the remake, he won't last 5 minutes in this match.

"Whether Aunt May dies or not isn't the question. If she dies, does it mean anything beyond a brief sales spike because collectors/speculators think they'll be able to make a profit selling the book later? That is the question. Back when, Stan and company won our hearts and minds. I cared about Spider-Man and the other Marvel characters as though they were friends. I cared every time Aunt May got sick. That's what good creative work does."

Have you seen the film? by the end of it he's a mortal version of the Doctor. Except he's a better fighter.

Jerry is not armed with a stake gun.

Nope. That's not what I said. Peter Vincent had a stake gun.

Jerry will also not have an army of vamps on his side. He is mano-a-mano. Really the fact that Jerry and an army of vamps was defeated by a few humans isn't helping your argument. Or it proves that he was fighting very powerful people with luck and the writers on their side.
Also, over the course of the film, he was staked, shot with an arrow, shot with a silver bullet, and had holy water splashed on his face. The last two were right in a row, too. It finally took sunlight and a simultaneous stake to the heart to take him down.
So, yeah. he can't take anything...
At all...
EDIT: Also, while it seem True Blood Vamps go down as soon as the stake enters their heart, Fright Night vamps take time to die. AND, they can fight it.

True Blood is pretty crazy. It is based on books that predate Twilight.

Eric is to fast to get staked. In the videos I posted you will see that Eric is so fast Jerry won't be able to touch him. Eric is also very durable. He survives silver bullets and is not vulnerable to holy water. Eric also heals extremely quickly and can accelerate that by feeding on innocent bystanders.
Nice try on trying to capitalize on Dr. Who fans but anybody who is thinking won't fall for that.

No. He honestly plays the character that he played for years. I intend no trickery. That's really how I see his portrayal of Vincent. Not because that's the only character he can play either. He was an incredible Hamlet. (Seriously, if you haven't seen this film it's worth it. I love the original and I thought this one came pretty close. If I lose this fight but turn someone onto this film I'll be happy. :D )

Eric Northman was a great Viking warrior before getting turned. He was a member of the Nazi SS during WWII. He's far more powerful than Dandridge. He kills humans and vampires alike with ease. He's devious, resourceful, and cunning. He takes this easily.

And I'll admit my wife had to drag me into watching True Blood. But its no where near the Twilight movies. Blood, sex, magic, humor and copious amounts of nudity in every episode. Plus for comic book geeks, there's Rogue from the X-Men movies all grown up and naked every other episode.
