Well, Rick Remender did give a little "sneak peak," if you will, about his plans for Venom over at Newsarama.

as for Venom, I'm getting the feeling it's going to be a temp thing for now. since they've been pimping the venom series so hard. maybe testing the waters for Brock to come back? but, man is it nice to see his original costume again!

After all, it'd be a violation of yet another Brevoort Manifesto mandate - "nobody should know who Spider-Man is" - which would once again make people ask, "And why isn't he telling Aunt May?"

Moreover, depending on how she responds, it's going to make her look Mary Sue-ish if she can "handle" it better than Mary Jane.

Yeah, I'm inclined to think it's a fake-out as well and that Peter's really affirming to himself that he's Spider-Man, especially if what Julia/Madame Web said he would do actually comes to pass. However, it certainly would make sense if he finally is telling Carlie the truth.

Not to mention Dan Slott even stated in a USA Today interview how it's been a long time since Peter dated someone who didn't know he was Spider-Man and how it creates "fun problems" for him. So if Peter reveals to Carlie he's Spider-Man and they're still together, that would be counter-productive.

Well, given how Carlie wants people she cares about to be 100% honest with her and how, in the latest issue, she's getting upset over the fact that she knows Peter has still been keeping secrets from her, I imagine that if Peter does tell her, she might appreciate his honesty, but finds it hard to cope with the fact that Peter lied to her all this time when he didn't need to and, because she was also friends with Spider-Man, could also feel as though she's been used. If Peter does tell her the truth, maybe it's setting things up where Carlie feels they have to be apart for awhile until she can decide whether or not they should still be a couple. At least, that's what I think ought to happen should she find out.
