"Whether Aunt May dies or not isn't the question. If she dies, does it mean anything beyond a brief sales spike because collectors/speculators think they'll be able to make a profit selling the book later? That is the question. Back when, Stan and company won our hearts and minds. I cared about Spider-Man and the other Marvel characters as though they were friends. I cared every time Aunt May got sick. That's what good creative work does."

Wow grampa! That sure is interesting! Tell me other stories from the past! Did you wear buffalo hides and hunt dinosaurs?

Just because a game is newer does not guarantee it will be better. Sure, the graphics might have improved a lot, but that doesn't necessarily mean the game will be more fun.
Personally, I loved Spider-Man Vs Kingpin. It was one of my favorite Spidey games, mostly because it had great graphics (for the day), all of his iconic villains, and the ability to take photos to earn money for web fluid. I'd much rather play that than Web of Shadows any day.
And look at it this way: Gerard has decided to start with the 16-bit games. It could be worse!

*Dumbing down Webswinging
* Making the black suit too hard to unlock and worthless.
* Playable Ultimate Venom. (Was boring and a poor choice at the time since Hulk: UD was released.)
However to THIS day I believe that Ultimate Spider-man has had the best combat system in any Spider-man game to date.
I've never felt more like Spider-man in that game when he's bouncing off walls, webbing down thugs and swinging away within seconds.
It's a shame it never caught on. Thugs should not be able to take 10 punches from Spidey.![]()

What ruined it for me, however, were the repetitious levels. Almost every chapter consisted of cutscene/chase/battle/cutscene/chase/battle.
And I've said it before: the race scenes, when you had to have Spidey swing, crawl, or jump through the red web-shaped globes, reminded me entirely too much of Superman 64.

I also enjoyed Maximum Carnage quite a bit too. Hard as heck, but I was able to routinely finish it. I've still got my Sega with my games. I love the red Maximum Carnage game cartridge.
