Friendly Fire Fight Club #138 - 'DOOMED CITY SHOWDOWN!'

"Greetings, my friends, and hello from the stars. My name is Lando, and that's all you need to know. I've been from one end of the galaxy to the other, babies, emptying credit accounts and breaking hearts all the way. Bruce Lee's on a vacation while yours truly takes you through Friendly Fire's Final Frontiers event. Smoother than a twi'lek's lekku, and that's no hustle.

"Earlier this week tnr105 challenged Ladyspider, who accepted. Having had luck with a sci-fi type last season, Ladyspider decided to go with what works and selected one of her champions from last season who toppled Boba Fett in one of the most epic Friendly Fire Fight Club matches to date... SAMUS ARAN!"

Image

"Wanting someone on the same level of deadly, tnr105 selected one of the Star Wars galaxy's most feared bounty hunters that even Jedi fear... CAD BANE!"

Image

"Two death machines are chomping at the bit to get at one another. But where? Tonight George Berryman has selected Caprica City as tonight's fight venue!"

Image

"Caprica City, the capital of the planet Caprica, is a doomed city. While it goes about its business, while its citizens go through their daily routines, they are unaware that, soon, an army of Cylons is going to utterly destroy their civilization."

"It's a high caliber fight with two high octane combatants! Who gets the vacation and who goes home to wash their wookiee? You decide!"

Ladies' first 8)

Though I have to question George on why the breathing tubes are listed as a weakness? They're not really cybernetics but protective gear that filters out all known toxins, as shown here, they are removable.

EDIT: Never mind, I reread and noticed it was "Weakness Analysis" and listed as a skill. I should have never doubted George Berryman  .

Here's some cool Cad Bane videos for people who might not know much about him. They are not necessarily an indication of who would win this fight, just so people can see what Cad Bane is capable of.

That's the worst thing you could possibly do. She should have never defeated Boba Fett, and I actually like Samus. There was horrible logic being used in that thread. It still irritates me.

Hmm. Well Bane helped train Boba Dett and let him join his posse. Maybe that will help you decide which way to vote

Okay... Let's start with the basics.

Bane is the king of bounty hunters. Not only has he taken out Jedi, but he has trained his followers such of Boba Fett and Aurra Sing. BOBA FETT willingly follows this guy, that's how good he is. He is resourceful, and always level headed. He is good enough to break into the Jedi Temple unnoticed to steal a holocron. He also has state of the art weaponry and armor, which is more lightweight than Samus' clunky power suit.

Before I go in depth, I'll wait for Ladyspider to give more detail in her argument of how Samus "has it in the bag" 8)

Overall Samus doesn't have that many weaknesses and since we are using her classic look ice isn't a factor. Being genetically altered Samus is superhumanly strong, agile and durable. By just dodging his attacks and hitting him with her different missiles she could easily wipe the floor with Cade. While I'm not taking anything away from Cade, he is skilled in combat and intelligent. Samus is just as skilled in combat and is an excellent shot, who regularly battles giant space aliens and pirates all by herself. Lets not forget Samus is a bounty hunter too she just to awesome to take on normal missions she gets the most impossible missions that that she can find.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Samus either. Though she doesn't have many weaknesses, he would be able to tell right off the bat what few she has. He is agile enough to dodge her attacks. He himself has missiles, along with blasters, explosives, stunners, and a FLAME THROWER. Though she would put up a fight, he would be able to determine her suit's weak spots to shut it down, and use stunners on her. He would then attach explosives to her, and walk away carelessly as she is blown to bits

He has lured Anakin, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, and Quinlan Vos into traps, and escaped unscathed. He was able to seamlessly taint clones made on Kamino with a virus, pull a heist in the Jedi Temple.

Also, unlike Boba Fett who's jet pack was an easy target, he has rocket boots which are more practical, as shown below.

She could do the same to him. Her games maybe but her games aren't design for you just to run and gun everything that moves. You actually have to think your way out of things and collect information about the environment. Cade wouldn't be able to do that as easily him being a blue alien and Samus looking like a drop dead gorgeous. The flame thrower wouldn't work against against her power suit siting the fact that it can survive being submerged in lave. And to steal a line from Crazychris "The difference is that Samus has more devastating technology at her disposal. Her powers get insane by the end of the games. She can do shit like shoot through walls, shoot fusion beams, fire clusters of guided missiles, swim through lava, and jump to any height as long as there isn't a ceiling to stop her from jumping higher."

Everything you just mention comes from proper planning and knowing how your opponent thinks. Things that he could not do on the fly in a one-on-one battle in a completely alien environment.

How is that more practical she could just as easily aim for his feet, which would hamper his ability to dodge her attacks when he gets shot down.

Rocket thrusters attached to his ankles would be harder target than literally shooting someone in the back, me thinks. Also, Bane has the skill of adapting to whatever environment he is in and using it to his advantage. While Samus would be able to use her little games on Bane, 1.) I think that may count as taking him out of the arena, and 2) If he's resistant to Jedi Mind Tricks, I'm pretty sure he'd be immune to anything Samus does to try to eff up his mind.

What advantage will he have he is literally on a world full of humans that could easily identify him.

Samus doesn't really have any mind powers, but her training allows her to control her emotions with ease.

Samus can scan him and figure out his weaknesses too, and if she locks on she'll be able to bombard him with beams and missles. Keep in mind Samus isn't just a walking tank- she's extremely agile and nimble. She can dodge a hell of a lot of his attacks. Plus if she's locked on she can keep an eye on him and avoid him planting anything on her.

Samus has been hit by explosives before, and while they hurt her, she CAN recover. Also her suit can take extreme temperatures, so the flamethrower is ruled out.

I believe it was the 99 missile capacity that annoyed you the most last time around, even though I think it's a fair argument because that's an established power from the game and can easily be explained by any number of science fiction standbys. Nevertheless, even without missiles Samus has several layers of energy-based armor, at least two layers of physical armor, the ability to see through walls, the ability to shoot energy through walls that electrifies organic matter, a nigh-infallible targeting system, the screw attack, the power to smash through walls like the juggernaut if she has a running start, a fusion cannon, and an ice cannon (these are different settings on the same weapon, so don't go playing the "how can she carry all that" card). Moreover, she can jump as high as she wants to until something solid gets in her way, she has thermal vision, night vision, x-ray vision, scanner vision, she can turn into a ball, set energy based explosives, roll up magnetic surfaces. She has fought beings with telekinetic and elemental powers on par if not more impressive than those of the Jedi and won.

I honestly think Samus versus Star Wars Bounty Hunter is an insanely mismatched fight, whether we're talking Boba Fett or this guy. Samus has taken down intelligent alien aberrations capable of destroying all life on planets with their own power. Bane takes on Jedi, but even though Jedi might be some of the most formidable fighters in their own universe, they are not unstoppable. Otherwise 99% of them wouldn't have gotten killed.
