This stuff is hilarious.
It's funny how the only time she truly remains loyal to the Daily Bugle was when everybody else left to start up Front line in recent years.
Where she once again betrayed Robbie.
I always found her to be annoying when I was reading back issue's of the lee ditko era.
But she seems to be just all around horrible.
Next thing you know she becomes a super villain.

Betty was always portrayed as being flaky and making terrible decisions when it came to relationships and her career. I had always kind of hoped they would level her out, but she seems to be that one character that Marvel seems content to make the girl mom warned you about.

Here are some other examples of why Betty Brant is the evil one. Let's go way back...

Peter is dating Betty...and Betty has a rule for him..DO NOT DATE OTHER GIRLS! Sounds reasonable right? Well Betty pulls this gem out in issue 19...



Betty openly dates another man. In fact she isn't even subtle about what nights she's going to be seeing both of them when the other men are around! If Peter and Betty weren't going steady this would all be well and fine, but Betty has repeatedly forbid Peter from seeing or talking to other girls. But she can date other boys. Oh and she admits that she is only doing this to get Peter jealous. And then she freaks out when he isn't and wonders if she lost him.

Oh no has dating another man openly driven Peter away?

Then in issue 20 the arrangement gets odder as the two got on a double date (two guys one girl) to the airport so Betty could see Ned off...WITH PETER RIGHT THERE!!!



See the rules are established. Betty is allowed to date other boys. What about Peter? Well the next issue when Betty suspsects Peter is two timing her...





So Peter has to answer about dating other girls?

So Betty is furious at Peter for dating other girls. He actually isn't dating anyone else, but Betty thinks he is. But she is allowed to date other men...which she is still doing as we'll see later.

Whatever kind of medication Betty should have been on at that time clearly wasn't working. Mind you knowing how Betty Brant is such a horrible person she probably would have taken whatever meds her doctor perscribed for her and tossed them in the garbage anyway.

I remember reading reprints of those issues in my Essentials years ago and all of Betty's two timing never even crossed my mind. Ah, to be older and wiser. Betty really was a jerk of a human being.
