Goderich, Ontario had tornado damage last week
and Sudbury had a 3.3 magnitude earthquake.
Of course you didn't mention
those, ya freakin'
jingoist imperialist lackey running dog!

But seriously, keep us posted on attempts to
get in touch with the family. . .we'd be nervous
too in that situation.
And my wife and daughter are in NY, due back tomorrow.
EDIT: There's more. . .
TORONTO - Did you feel it? That was the question many Canadians were asking each other after a 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck the U.S. East Coast just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, rattling eastern Canada, swaying bookshelves and forcing people into the street for safety.
The earthquake was centred in Mineral, Va., 150 km southwest of Washington, D.C., the U.S. Geological Survey said.
It had an unusually shallow depth of 0.1 kilometres. Earthquakes of magnitude 5.5 to 6 usually cause slight damage to buildings and other structures.
The Pentagon and U.S. Capitol Building in Washington were evacuated, as were courthouses in New York City. The earthquake sent Washington office workers scurrying into the streets.
In Canada, the quake was felt as far as Abitibi, in northwestern Quebec.
In southwestern Ontario, Sarnia Observer daily newspaper editor Jack Poirier said his building shook for about 30 seconds.
"(It) felt like a large semi rumbling past, but more prolonged," he wrote in an e-mail.
In Ottawa, there were reports of people running from their offices during a 45-second shake, and a Service Ontario building was evacuated in St. Catharines, Ont.
According to the National Research Council website, that quake produced "the strongest shaking ever felt in Ottawa."
Many eastern Canadians felt nothing at all. And still others were unsure of what they felt until they heard about the U.S. quake.
"I went to an intense power yoga class this morning so I thought I was just dizzy and shaky because I had worked out too hard this morning. But no, then my Twitter went wild and I was 'Oh. OK. Well there you go,'" said Laura Fraser, 26, historical curator in downtown Toronto.
There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries from the quake.
In New York, the tremors prompted evacuations of courthouses, City Hall and halted work at the World Trade Center construction site.
Control towers at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City and Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey were also evacuated, and flights were delayed while authorities inspected control towers and runways.
"We're going to hope to resume operations. We are talking hours, not longer," a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said.
It was not immediately clear if there was any damage or injuries in New York, but fire department and police officials in Dutchess County, north of New York City, reported structural damage to some buildings.
"We're getting a lot of calls on buildings shaking but there's no report of any structural damage at this time. Just panicked people calling about buildings shaking," a spokesman for the New York City Fire Department said.
Traffic lights were knocked out throughout Washington, and units at a nuclear power plant in Virginia went off line by the quake. However, there was no reported damage.
