Just saw this a minute ago:

Raiders owner Al Davis dies
Passes away at age 82
By REUTERS

Al Davis, the long-time owner of the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders, died Saturday at the age of 82, the team’s official website reported.

The website http://www.raiders.com gave no details of the death of one of the leading personalities in the NFL, but said a statement would be made later Saturday.

Davis was hired as coach and general manager of the Raiders at the age of 33 and later became principal owner.

He was also was commissioner of the American Football League (AFL) in 1966 and was viewed as a driving force in the merger with the NFL that created the modern competition.

“Al Davis’s passion for football and his influence on the game were extraordinary,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in a statement.

“He defined the Raiders and contributed to pro football at every level. The respect he commanded was evident in the way people listened carefully every time he spoke.

”He is a true legend of the game whose impact and legacy will forever be part of the NFL,“ he said.

Davis also took the Raiders away from Oakland to Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994 before returning the franchise to its original home.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992.

I'm thinking Cowboys win a close one.

$10 each Over/Under for the season from http://www.obsessedwithsports.com/2011/08/04/las-vegas-hiltons-nfl-win-total-overunders/
Giants 9 1/2 Rogers takes over
Cowboys 9

Yeah, that's a wash. Giants at 9, Cowboys at 8.

$10 each Head to Head (Point spread will be factored into the games, I shall edit this in the week of the games)
Week 14 12/11 Deep in the heart of South Texas (clap clap clap) Line is Cowboys at 4
http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/more_sports/the_post_line_B7xptngKBSt21V29whqomI

Week 17 1/1 The season comes to a close in the newly christened Met Life Insurance Stadium Line is Giants at 3
http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/more_sports/the_post_line_nCUN9ZVxKoAPXl9EYBaNSO

Giants win both and covered that last one.

$10 each Exotic team bets
Best record, standard NFL tie breaker rules if season record ends the same
Furthest in postseason play, wash if both end up missing the playoffs or bowing out in same round

Giants take both

$5 each Exotic player bets
Manning vs Romo
QB Passer Rating
TDs

Romo wins both. 102.5 Passer Rating to 92.9, and 31 Touchdowns to 29.

Jacobs vs Jones
Rushing Yds
TDs

Apparently I picked the wrong rushers on both squads! Hell, Tebow has more rushing yards than both! Jones 575 rushing yards to Jacobs' 571. Does end up being a wash as Jacobs has more TDs, 7 to 1.

Defense
Overall Defense Ranking

And the 'Boys pick up that one, ranked 16th to Big Blue's 25.

Loser pays half Joplin Red Cross Relief Effort. at RebuildJoplin.org and half to Josh's Kickstarter campaign.

So the total pot came out to $25 bucks. $12.50 each.

I went to my first NFL game yesterday and saw my Bucs get killed in their 10th straight loss. Someone needs to fire their coach...oh wait that happened less than 24 hours later. Hope we get someone good like Jeff Fisher. Too bad we can't get Dungy or Gruden back... :(
