Sure, but I'd bet pretty much anything on Cena winning and that being the end of this.

You may be right. On the other hand, who really thought he was going to defeat Cena at Money in the Bank, yet that's exactly what happened. The smart thing would be for Punk to win (which will raise his stock further) and continue his reign for a handful of months at least until someone turns on him (maybe Triple H and / or Cena) or he's beat down in a match, allowing Alberto Del Rio to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
What's annoying his how during the live fan poll on Raw, the majority of the audience thought Cena was the rightful WWE Champion, despite him losing the rightful Title to Punk at Money in the Bank.

That's cause the majority of people who voted are probably just dumb kids who don't know anything. Don't even get me started on the MITB, I loathe it entirely. Maybe if someone legitimately challenged someone to a match I wouldn't mind it. Winning a title the way everyone does with it is just boring, and makes the belts mean less than they already do. Which is pretty much nothing anyway.

You must not remember Rob Van Dam informing John Cena several weeks in advance that he would be cashing in his Money In the Bank contract for a WWE championship match at ECW's One Night Stand 2006. We knew this match would happen, the New York Crowd (much like Chicago for Money In the Bank) were firmly behind RVD and vehemently against Cena and the match ended with RVD becoming WWE Champion.

Even now, Daniel Bryan stated on Smackdown about a week or two ago that he wouldn't simply cash in on the champion when they are in danger, but was going to cash in on the champion in a straigt up one on one match at Wrestlemania 28. Whether this happens or not remains to seen.

But generally, the MITB cash in is a good game changer. Because of it, Edge cashed in on Cena at New Years Revolution 2006 and became WWE Champion for the first time and really cemented him as a top guy. The Extreme Rules 2009 cash of CM Punk on Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Title helped establish Punk more and set into motion his turn from friendly fan favorite into villain with his Straight Edge crusade against Jeff Hardy. And the November 2010 cash on by the Miz on Raw against Randy Orton made Miz a WWE champion for the first time and established him as main eventer in the future for the company.

RVD doing that happened when I was not watching wrestling, so I apologize for the mistake. Generally though it's just a silly sneak attack that makes the win feel empty to me. If it wasn't used ALL the time, I probably wouldn't mind it so much. Even if Bryan does challenge someone straight up, we're still going to see Del Rio Pearl Harbor someone to win it. ;)

Though it might not bother me if someone tried a sneak attack and wound up losing anyway. I don't mean like what happened at MiTB, I mean a match where the bell rings and it's actually for the title.

I suppose eventually someone will try to cash it in and be unsuccessful. Despite the scavenger nature of most of the cash ins, by having every person who wins the MITB briefcase go on to win the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship (regardless of how they do it), has raised the profile of the Briefcase to where it seems equivalent (and possibly greater) than winning the Royal Rumble. While the Royal Rumble winner has not won the championship at Wrestlemania since Undertaker at Wrestlemania 23 (2007), all the Money in the Bank winners since it's inception in 2005 (Technically 2006 when Edge cashed it in and not counting Mr Kennedy who lost his MITB contract to Edge in 2007, who then went on to successfully cash it in again) have gone on to win one of the 2 major Championships and generally get propelled to the main event as a result.

After SummerSlam and the following RAW, it seems apparent to me that Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley is behind Nash's attack. I mean, she'd have access to HHH's cell phone to ask Nash to stick the winner, she was seen leaving Cena's locker room, who could have said some not-so-nice things to her, and we all know CM Punk didn't.

And then, last night on RAW, she said something about people getting what they deserve. So, yeah, I think Stephanie's behind the goings-on.

Am I the only one who wishes wrestling would go back to how it was in the old days (like before 1990), with the lower key television shows, and slower buildups to events? I don't watch WWE anymore, and I tried to watch TNA, however the production values of these shows both grate on me. Anyone ever notice that there's a camera cut less than every five seconds? Or when a move is performed the camera zooms jerkily in on the wrestlers? It's awful. I'm sorry if those of you who were born and bred on today's modern WWEized version of wrestling enjoy it, but it's hard for me to get into. When I do watch WWE, 90% of the wrestlers all seem like the same character, just watered down versions of Steve Austin.

Sorry for the rant, had to get that out. Continue as you were. :)

You're right, almost every character IS the same, or very similar and that's a problem. And yes, I would enjoy long builds as well instead of doing something stupid like blowing your whole load in two weeks. *cough* C.M. Punk *cough*
