The last show of October is up with 40 minutes left of the month. What did you think of it?
The opening song is here and I think this guy looks like Zach!

I'd disagree, I hear "Spider-Man" in the theme. Check out the music from the scene with Spidey escaping from the police, around 2:20 in this track.

Guilty pleasures in comics...Gen13 and 90s Catwoman. Plenty of boobies but still a lot of fun.

Villains for the ASM movie, I'd love to see Chameleon or Scorpion. Judging by the cross-species direction they're going, though, if they're using Scorpion, he'll be the monstrous one from the video game.
Mabuhay ang Crawlspace!
Ignore the underscore, just call me Iron Patriot.

Probably another of your best recordings. Everyone was on fire and brought the funny. Many good quotes worthy for the Crawl Space Moments thread.

First off, thanks for replying my question. Yay! You guys are doing a great job. I was kinda expecting to hear about your comments on the Superior Spider-man announcement. I guess it'll be on another podcast.

Regarding my request with the S-Man 2099 it's not so much a review of each issue, but more like an article reviewing what it was all about and its legacy. Maybe include a review of the general story arcs Peter David wrote.

Direct to DVD Spider-man movies would be my dream come true if executed properly. Ultimate Avengers was a let down since I love The Ultimates. The only worthy Marvel direct to DVD was Hulk vs. Wolverine. The one I would like to see include:

Death of Gwen Stacy
Kraven Last Hunt
Maximum Carnage (re-written though, just for the action and symbiote awesomeness)
Spider-man: Blue
Spider-man: Marvel Knights (Mark Millar run)
Spider-man: A Death in the Family
Spider-man: Reign (without the radioactive excretions reference)
Spider-man 2099 (a quick story of Venom and Goblin 2099 with his origin told in flashback, or just adapt the first 10 issues)

Also I would not be averse to a Black Cat or Ben Reilly story.

Too bad, I think it has not been done because the rights for a Spider-man movie (albeit direct to DVD) are held by Sony. Maybe Marvel could get away with it by making them mini series divided by episodes. That way they would not be movies. Unfortunately they are busy building up Avengers and letting Slott and company take the reigns of our beloved character. :-(

It'll be on the November cast. They recorded the October one on the 7th and the Superior Spider-Man announcement was on the 10th.

As always, a job very well done. The best line went almost unnoticed. I think it was Bertone, "...Peter's coming out of the theater saying, it's all my fault, it's all my fault!"

Great insights, guys, especially Donovan on Mary Jane.

Keep it up. I'm looking forward to #200. I guess it's too early to bring George back for a reunion. Maybe on 300.

Forgot to mention. It seems a shame that you all have not met in person. It's clear that Donovan and Bertone are buddies, but I guess the rest of you don't know each other too well?

I actually count Brad as one of my best friends in the world, even though we've never met in person. I have been lucky enough to meet Stella, Don, and Bertone, though.

Thanks for answering my questions, guys! (BTW, I put "trying again" because I thought my September question wasn't up to snuff, as it were.)

A quick note to Kevin: On the Lensman books (ignore the anime; it's Lensmen in name only), you might want to start with books 3 (Galactic Patrol) to 5 (Second Stage Lensmen), which were written first and form a natural trilogy, before reading 1, 2 & 6.

Looking forward to #200 and Spider-Jeopardy 2012!

Donovan is easily one of my best friends. We talk daily for the most part and share many common interests. We've done SDCC together twice and both times shared a room.

I've done two SDCC trips with Stella and she is a great friend who I'm in constant contact with. She was the first person to call and check on me when a recent traumatic life change happened.

I met Kevin and had a great dinner with him (and others) at San Diego this summer.

Spent a few days with Zach in SDCC the summer prior. Speak to him on the phone and Skype a few times a week and always text. He was probably one of my first friends on the Crawlspace. Another close friend.

That's it for co-hosts who I've met in person.

I do have the phone numbers to all of the current gang in my phone for text purposes. It's very surreal because I was a listener/fan a few years ago and now I can text them...

I consider myself close to most of them. Those who I'm not it's only because we haven't spent much time together.

Of them all, I've known Brad the longest. BD and I go back from '03. Sadly we've never met. (Had planned on coming to visit back this summer, but those plans fell through.)

Like josh said, I've met Don, him and Stella (along with Eddie from Collectors)

The second longest member I've known is Kevin, we go back from 2005. (He's the longest serving member of the admin team)

I've not met JR, but I consider him a good friend. He was one of the first people to text me in a very life changing event in 2008.

I've skyped extensively with them all. Very good people.

Postby DarkKnightJared » Thu Nov 01, 2012 11:02 pm

I think it was Kevin who mentioned it--I've flipped through the other Lantern-related #13s, and while they all have a bit to do with the Third Army stuff, it does seem like they're still telling unique stories around it. It's very possible that it'll change as it goes on (I think the solicit for the GLC Annual in January is advertised as the must-read to get the true end of RIse of the Third Army), right now it seems like you can read the books on their own, sort of similar to what they did with the Night of the Owls event.

Guilty pleasures in comics...I don't think I have any that I'm straight up GUILTY for, but funnily enough, I am with iron_patriot in the Gen13 love--after seeing some of the stuff in the New 52, I wanted to see what some of these 90s Wildstorm books were like, and I've really liked what I've read of Gen13 and WildCATS.

Wolverine & The X-Men has been AMAZING. With the latest issue, Bleeding Cool compared it to the Giffen/DeMatteis JLI run, and I think that's a VERY accurate comparison to when it's been at it's finest.

And yeah, the Batman timeline in particular is a little messed up--personally, I would have just had it that Batman had Robin and maybe Batgirl by the time the Justice League started, and everything else be set "a while back."

And yeah, that moment in AVX #11 would have been pretty awesome...if he actually, you know, DID SOMETHING in the final issue.

Good episode, guys. :)

Thanks for that rundown guys. That's great that you all have been able to develop these friendships. I'm hoping that means you will all be around for a while. Each of you brings a very different and interesting perspective to the podcast. I have tried listening to a few other casts and the other one I really make time for is the Clone Saga Chronicles. On to 300!! [smilie=spidey_rolling.gif]
