"I don't think Spider-Man works as well with the cosmic." I never got that idea--mostly because to me, one of the things that makes superhero comics awesome is that there's all this crazy shit immersed with the mundane. I'm of the opinion that Spidey's one of those characters that you could conceivably do any kind of story with him.
Whedon's Spider-Man in Giant-Sized Astonishing X-Men was awesome, though he was technically just in a space station. He did have an awesome bit where he's the first one to figure out all the other Marvel heroes besides the X-Team fighting the big threat that's going to destroy Earth are in a fantasy state by seeing himself stop this giant bullet crashing into Earth with his web's going "woo-hoo!" and then thinking, "Waaait a second..."

Now that i think about it--Joss Whedon doing a run on Spider-Man: Awesome, or Fucking Awesome?
"I don't know why [The Amazing Spider-Man Game] plays like Arkham City, but..." Because that game was astounding and if it ain't broke, don't fix it?
With the Avengers game, if I remember right, it is going to be on X-Box 360, but you can only play it with the Kinect.
Betty Brant as Spider-Girl? I have to look this up--

...Oh. Oh
god.

Chew is pretty damn cool (totally looking forward to his Detective). Some other good indie stuff is Prophet, Glory, and Saga. I've also gotten into Hack/Slash, and Revival had a good first issue.
And yes, that Morbious panel/reading is glorious. My personal favorite, though is this:

Pretty modest, all things considered, but look at what he's reading--he's reading the US CONSTITUTION ON THE BEACH.
Good episode.
