Re: Podcast 161 Dec 2011: What did you think?

*I like that Len Wein Shocker story, think it's good

*You know that thing with the clone in the chimney, how come his skeleton was still there if he was a clone and Ben turned to dust as he was pierced by the Green Goblin glider? Clone Saga is one major mess

*I need to take another look at that Mantlo story from MTU

*I don't know how did Carlie figure it out, she was buck naked like everyone else, she watched and heard people talking about stuff nothing to do with how they coped with having Spider-Man powers, she handled her powers quite well, but then this is what made her figure out who Spider-Man is.
The thing with MJ and the break of the psychic blindspot felt rather organic. But how the heck did he try to lie to Carlie as he was sleeping?
There are times I sit near something, move a little and my mind plays it out, so I don't think it's really bad, but he forgot for quite a long time
I'd give the arc a B+

*Forget Eddie and Reed calling him that, no one is going to give credit to the Beyonder for being the reason to give Spider-Man the symbiote, Sin-Eater for being the cause of Eddie bonding with the symbiote, and Mr. Negative for producing the most essential part of the cure of the Spider-Island virus?

*That thing with Vulture hiring kids to do his job reminded me of the first arc of Web of Spider-Man with the Vulturions, how that made Adrian pissed and he escaped prison just to get back at his former cellmate.
How that police chief behaves made me like Emilio (that Kenny McFarlane lookalike from Spider-Island epilogue) even more

*I didn't know you spoke of them, I placed the Vulturions before the part you guys start talking about them. Alistair didn't appear in WoS, his first appearance was in ASM Annual 19 and he was placed there referencing back to May's gift hat

*I like the new look for Vulture, but the fur around the neck is not so good to look at

Great show guys! Absolutely loved JR's recap of 1970's Spidey goodness; I was laughing out loud while going for my run this morning listening to it. Luckily it was super-dark and no one saw me!! Keep up the fantastic work!

With two days separating the release of both part 1 and part 2 of this month show I hoped to find part 3 today, bummer =p.
That part will be published after recording the podcast with Peter David?

I thought it was cool to have Don on. When was the last podcast Bailey came on? Seems like it's been a while.

I'm recording with Peter David at 10:30am central this Saturday.

I'll probably release Peter before the MB Q&A

Yeah, Bailey hasn't been on in a long time. I miss him. I think he's missed three months.

A filler to look forward to more than the highly anticipated arc conclusion, what a [smilie=spidey_lol.gif] twist

First episode of the show I've listened to for a while, was very good and some of the history segment was hilarious.

I'm hooked again.

Yeah, if I recall right, Klaus Janson didn't ink over JRJR until he did Millar's Enemy of the State story in Wolverine.

I tried watching Warehouse 13, and...that was just dull and I couldn't get into it, and I tried the second season. The fact that this is continuing and Eureka isn't is just saddening. I also find How I Met Your Mother to be utterly boring and Big Bang Theory to be stupidly unfunny.

Definitely second the Supergods recommendation--say what you will about the guy's work, but his story and his ideas on comics and how they should be are utterly fascinating.

I read the first issue of Gillan's new Uncanny X-Men title, and it looks like a fun adventure series. I'll definitely give the trade a read.

Batman by Snyder is REALLY GOOD. :D

Batman: The Dark Knight...the first issue was a little crappy, but the last two were pretty fun. I don't think I can say they've been GOOD, but I can't say they weren't ENTERTAINING either.

I think Finch did more than six on Huston's Moon Knight. More like 10--but he did leave in the middle of a story arc, sadly.

Good episode. :)

The movie? Definitely. I've liked most of Kevin Smith's movie work (except for Jersey Girl and Cop Out, and I'm not even sure if that last one should count, and I haven't seen Red State yet).
