Characters you wish would be in a Spidey comic again

Postby Stuart Green » Sun Jul 01, 2012 11:47 pm

Hi, guys,
Miss me? Sorry I haven't been here much, I've been busy writing some Spidey fan fic I'll have ready by the end of this month. We all know the Lizard is currently making his "because I'm in the Spidey movie this month, I have to be in the Spidey comics this month too" re-appearance, but I was wondering: are there any characters you wish would return to the comics? Spidey has a variety of awesome characters, from heroes to villains and supporting cast members, but a lot of them have been MIA as of late, what with all the multi-part stories lately. While I'm staying away from the comics till the you-know-what comes back, I do wonder if, since Dan Slott at least acknowledges continuity, we'll be seeing any of these characters in the future:

- HARRY OSBORN
Isn't it strange how Brand New Day brought back Harry Osborn, but did very little with him and promptly had him leave with his new son Stanley? I do hope Harry returns in a longer capacity. He's got a lot of potential for good stories.

- STUNNER
It's very weird to me how Doc Ock's girlfriend hasn't been seen since she slipped into a coma using her life force to bring Ock back from the dead. I still don't buy Ock would be currently dying since his resurrection, but I digress. Stunner was actually one of Spidey's cooler female rogues, but it's a little odd how Ock hasn't even mentioned her since her exit in 1997. 1997, PEOPLE! My THEORY is that Stunner is dead, Ock wasn't able to save her, and that's why he donned that Matrix-y all-black look in 2004 when the "Spider-Man 2" film came out: he was mourning her death. Again, it's just a theory, but it'd make sense, right?

- DONALD MENKEN and KOLINA
Remember when Norman Osborn fell for a lady named Kolina, who reminded him of his late-wife, and then he sent her and his loyal lackey Donald Menken away during the "Revenge of the Green Goblin" storyline? No? Well, don't feel too bad, 'cause it seems Marvel doesn't either. I'd like to know whatever happened to them, especially since Norman Osborn actually started caring for someone.

- JOANNIE and SADIE FRICKETT
I believe Mark Millar said in an interview, way back when he wrote "Marvel Knights: Spider-Man", that the two ladies were meant to be the wives of Sandman and Hydro-Man, respectively. Have either of them ever been mentioned and/or seen again? Were they acknowledged to have even be recently wed to these ladies? Sure, Sandman's been trying to get back Keemia (or so I read), but what happened to these villains' girlfriends/wives?

- MAGUIRE BECK and DANIEL BERKHART
I believe the current Jack O'Lantern said he killed his predecessors, so why not have flashbacks of current/classic Mysterio Quentin Beck remember them? He didn't meet his cousin since his resurrection, has he? Now that they seem to be dead, shouldn't Mysterio go after Jack O'Lantern to avenge his allies' deaths? After all, wouldn't you be upset if someone murdered your cousin and successor/lackey?

- RODERICK KINGSLEY
Because I still refuse to believe the suddenly-evil Phil Urich actually decapitated the real Roderick "brainwashing others into posing as me/Hobgoblin" Kingsley. If he did, then that's really, REALLY sad.

That's all I've got for now. What do you guys think?

Thanks for reading,
S.G.

"The ground quakes and the heavens cry tears of blood when Kevin gives out his brand of Crawlspace justice. Babies cry, grown men avert their eyes, women pass out and even the wind gives pause. Kevin’s eyes glow and lightning crackles around them. It’s pretty epic and definitely not for the timid." - Michael Bailey

Cue the zombies.
Or the clones.
(Zombie clones? Clone zombies? No wait - someone at marvel might take this seriously!)
