To be honest...
At this point there is nothing else worst that Quesada can do.
I just don't care about Amazing Spider-man anymore...

Batman is once again my favorite Superhero. (In terms of which character I look forward to the most when it comes to entertainment)
I always find myself dreading what's next to come for Spider-man.

Whether Batman's continuity has been put through a "crisis" or not, his character traits have always endured.
The character is currently "dead" and he's still doing better than Spider-man. =/
Spidey needs that love and respect again.

I'm undecided whether what will happen with me and if I'll be one of the few still reading ASM after OMIT is finally done. I like Peter Parker but I'm not a fan of this guy; you know what I mean. Spidey was my role model when I was a kid; I will admit; but now look at the title and he's probably Marvel's Iconic Character.

Changes will happen when OMIT starts playing out, mark my words.

CrazyChris wrote:It will reveal that Peter and MJ got married because Mephisto took bird form and released a prisoner from a police car, setting off a chain of events that led to them saying "I do." Mephisto did this so he could cause more subconscious pain later on by taking away the marriage he had a hand in creating. He takes the marriage away by changing time by OMITING the action of releasing the prisoner, causing events to unfold as they naturally would without Mephisto's intervention. The natural unfolding of events leads to Mary Jane and Peter deciding not to get married. Mephisto wins because the Peter in this timeline has a subconscious sense that there was another timeline that once existed in which he was married, and the small part of his soul that remembers it will scream for eternity, knowing what it had lost.

Speaking of which, do you guys know what I just now realized what else was possibly wrong with this scene:

Image

Lets say the Mephisto Pigeon did unlock the rear doors or even more ridiculous, the rear doors were already unlocked--the crook wouldn't have been able to open the door and escape anyway. Why? Because in police cars, they are normally customized so that the rear door locks, handles and window cranks or buttons are disabled, inoperable, or removed altogether to prevent them being opened from the inside. This is done for the obvious reason that the cops do not want apprehended suspects to escape their custody during transport. So not only are we dealing with a stupid crook who thinks cop cars are just like normal cars, but also the possibility that Joe Quesada as the writer of this story didn't do his research. (Unless, of course, there are those in law enforcement which can correct me on this).

@ Stillanerd, the crook is looking through the glass at the bird in the front seat of the police car, where the buttons would be operational. And perhaps the devil bird was only going to lower the window, rather than unlock the door. I know, I'm reaching... [smilie=spidey_shrug.gif]

Them devil birds is crazy
"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine and a whole multicolored collection of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers . . . Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon . . ."

Yeah, the crook would've already been out of the car regardless if those controls were in the back seat. So obviously, the bird must've landed in the front.

Even Grant Morrison is writing Batman and doing a good job.
Batman's just got that shine man...

[smilie=spidey_shrug.gif]

The only thing about O.M.I.T that interests me is if Quesada will have enough decency to acknowledge that there are fans of the marriage this time.
That's one thing that really bothered me about BND at the start. Acting like this milestone in Spidey history "never happened". That EVERY fan out there accepted this craptastic story as "good storytelling".

I think even Marvel (well, I think it was Tom Brevoort) has acknowledged that One More Day was a necessary evil rather than good story telling. As a fan of the current ASM, I'm well aware OMD wasn't a particularly good story. I don't think they ever said fans had to accept that OMD was good, just that the retcon happened.

Marvel already lost -- part 2 of OMIT will ship a week later than solicited.

Sadly, OMIT will most likely also fall under the label of "necessary evil"... :(
