It is a really, truly, horribly venomous and ghastly place run by a serious Lunatic Fringe element. I don't know why Dan even bothers with those admins, whose basic criticism of everything there is boils down to "Why can't comics be like they were when Mommy was alive?" It's a more depressing site than the John Byrne Message Boards, and that's really something.

Sounds like he thinks this site has made some dick moves.

That's rather mean characterization of the website and its staff. I would only point out that Roger Stern, Stan Lee, DeFalco, and Peter David have no such issues here - that I'm aware of. Whatever, I love the Crawlspace and I like the Admin/Moderator staff quite a bit.

"Whether Aunt May dies or not isn't the question. If she dies, does it mean anything beyond a brief sales spike because collectors/speculators think they'll be able to make a profit selling the book later? That is the question. Back when, Stan and company won our hearts and minds. I cared about Spider-Man and the other Marvel characters as though they were friends. I cared every time Aunt May got sick. That's what good creative work does."

That's why I routinely avoid the front page. I have the main forum index bookmarked on my computer so I do go directly there when accessing the Crawlspace. The only reason I use the front page now is for the Spidermancrawlspace podcast when it's posted, or if I'm at work and I check the Crawlspace.

By the way, the pimp was in Superman 1 and not 2.
