For the first time, I'm using a subscription service because I really want to support the industry but whenever I'm away at college there's never a store around. So I set up accounts for both Mail Order and DCBS and put in my orders yesterday. For Mail Order, i got Justice League #2 for 99 cents, which was too sweet of a deal to pass up.

The Bat Books and ASM were must-haves, as was Static Shock. I didn't order Detective because I'm weary of Tony Daniel's mediocrity, or Batgirl on principal alone. Teen Titans, Blue Beetle and Supergirl I'm giving a shot. I'm genuinely interested in both Action and Superman. Mister Terrific is a character I've wanted to get into for some time now.

I've never tried this before, and while I understand that the odds of getting the books the day of are slim-to-nil, I'm really hoping it won't be a month before I'm able to read these.

I've been using DCBS for over a year now and I can say that you get the books pretty quick. I don't know what shipping option you selected (I get once a month) but the first time I used it I got my books on Thursday. Since then I've gotten them on Friday. It may depend on my location though, since they ship from Indiana and I live in Michigan. Idk.

And I've tentatively added Incredible Hulk #1 to my order. Not sure I'm gonna keep it, but for now I'm very intrigued by the premise (and Silvestri art is typically awesome). And I've heard great things about Aaron, though I don't think I've read anything of his.

You should check out his Vertigo work; Scalped. I've only read the first volume but I really enjoyed it.
