Alright, who just voted for Herc? Would you care to share with the rest of the class why?

In the meantime, here's a video. Make sure you watch the Bill vs. Stardust sequence:

I'm confounded. I have done nothing but provide scans and references to how Beta Ray Bill has the advantage in this battle, while showing how Hercules wouldn't fare well at all.

It all comes down to this mathematical proof:

Beta Ray Bill = Thor

Thor > Hercules

Beta Ray Bill > Hercules

Let's look at our actual match again:

The battle is taking place at the Ministry of Magic. There are wizards walking about. There are weird, fanciful magical things taking place there. There are weird, fanciful magical WOMEN walking about. That is sure to distract Hercules, much like how he's distracted here:

Image

Beta Ray Bill has the field advantage. I posted that slideshow showing how he took down Stardust, a HERALD OF GALACTUS. He also battled the Silver Surfer and knocked him on his butt. He pursued Galactus himself and had him HIDING BEHIND ASTEROIDS.

Herc? In "Assault of New Olympus", he still needed the help from the Avengers to face Hera. Bill faced a much worse threat ALL ON HIS OWN.

Bill can and should stay airborn, far from Herc's grasp. Bill's hammer, Stormbreaker, can be thrown with great force at Herc and be recalled, besides his ability to control the weather.

I have yet to hear from anyone how Herc is supposed to counter that EFFECTIVELY. He needs to be able to hit his opponent to win in Fight Club.

Yeah a few points.

1.) That was a pretty friendly bar fight between the two (Thor Vol. 2 #6)

2.) Beta Ray Bill is NOT THOR.

3.) Let's check out the pages preceding that page you posted, shall we?

Hercules is one of the strongest beings of the MU.

Only an injury of such magnititude that it incinerated him or dispersed a major portion of his bodily molecules could kill Hercules.

I will repeat what I said about Herc's ability at hand-to-hand, but he also is skilled at several weapons. Many of these weapons are distance weapons, which would, if necessary, allow him to attack BRB and stay away from his attacks. He has used weapons which were forged by the god Hephaestus!

Herc is the son of a god, has fought worse monsters than BRB (not to say he's a monster) with his bare hands, and has been fighting different forms of bad guys for a thousand years. The years that Herc has been at it should not be overlooked. It would be like passing over Robert E. Lee or Ulysses S. Grant saying their experience does not matter.

Beta Ray Bill does not "equal" Thor. Mjolnir alone is more powerful than Storm Breaker. Thor's immense strength is also augmented by a magical belt. You are high!

You're right. It seems Bill may actually be STRONGER than Thor himself:

I've been arguing the energy projection all along. That will be Hercules' downfall.

Also, where do you get that Mjoilnir is stronger? From the Marvel wiki, again:

Made as a sort of duplicate version of the enchanted hammer Mjolnir.

Sounds to me like they are pretty much the same. I'll give you the belt, though, but I've argued several times that Bill has the might of an Asgardian as powerful as Thor.

Oh I dunno - from actually reading Thor quite a bit over the last 30 years?

Storm Breaker is laughably underpowered next to Mjolnir.

Mjolnir can put a hole in a f'ing Celestial with its God Blast, Two-Bit. Storm Breaker? Yeah not so much. It can't even absorb energy. It doesn't have the Anti-Life capabilities that Mjolnir has. Storm Breaker doesn't absorb life, it doesn't resurrect the dead, it can't maniuplate matter or repel magic... you are off your rocker! Even more so than your normal "Oh well experience doesn't ever matter" stuff.

And to follow up with this talk of Mjolnir, Herc uses a mace that has the same properties as that of Mjolnir. Did I mention he also has weaponry that has been MADE BY A GOD?! Have you read those stories where the gods forge weapons? We're talking Achilles and Aeneas, and even Perseus! You've seen what they can do. Herc's weapons would surely best BRB.

Which won't come into play.

That and the God Blast. Aren't those forbidden moves?

Storm Breaker doesn't absorb life, it doesn't resurrect the dead,

Forbidden moves.

it can't maniuplate matter or repel magic...

Won't be needed
