The fact that you're saying Voltron would be squashed under 100,000 tons means you probably didn't read most of my posts. I've demonstrated that is false and then some. The only thing new that you've brought to the table is some powers, like a healing factor, that actually have not been demonstrated by the Keizer version of Ghidorah. George specifically said he was using the Final Wars version, and that didn't even destroy a city, let alone planets. Voltron is busy fighting enemies that blow up planets. This thing is a sneeze to him.

Well, people who DO try and destroy planets and have demonstrated the ability to do so in the past (as opposed to your woulda/coulda/shoulda arguments) have tried and failed to destroy Voltron.

That is correct. You did refute them, but that doesn't mean your points were correct. You stated that Voltron would take Godzilla, Ghidorah, and Mothra at the same time. That's funny, but if you truly believe that, then I don't think you fully understand the matchup you're in, or the sheer power that a Ghidorah has.

That's correct. George did specify the Keizer. In Toho canons, all King G's are planet destroyers. That's literally the nature of the beast. What makes you think that was Keizers' first or only fight?

I respectfully disagree. And I do mean respectfully. I dig Voltron. I know what he's about. Japanese monster movies and their various mythologies are one of my big loves. Voltron falls into that general area. In those areas of fiction, King Ghidorah is simply the at the top of the pile rivaled only by Godzilla.

Like I said, I researched this match before you or George had even selected your combatants. I was prepared for Voltron counter arguments against Ghidorah days ago. I was genuinely curious if there was another monster capable of defeating Keizer Ghidorah in Final Frontiers. I don't believe there is anothe giant monster that can. Maybe Space Godzilla or another Ghidorah, but not Voltron.

That's only my opinion of course, but I am very knowledgeable in this particular area of fandom. Like I said, I was actually pulling for you to surprise me in this match. I mean that.

I'm gonna kick back now and watch you and George tear each other apart for both mine and the rest of the Fight Clubbers' enjoyment. If we end up doing voter submissions for favorite fights like we did last year, this one would be one that totally gets my vote for one of my favorite fights.

Not very long. I know most kaiju like the back of my hand, and I researched this matchup days ago in anticipation of having to potentially fight it myself.

Yes. You've said yourself that Godzilla was stomped into submission by a 100,000 ton monster. Voltron took hundreds of 10,000,000 ton blasts to the chest and was able to keep fighting afterwards. You're honestly arguing that 100,000 is more then 10,000,000 and winning. I don't know what your gift as but you should be using it to become a millionaire instead of arguing about Godzilla monsters.

Right. I figured I'd have a tough time on my hands if he'd have countered with Grand King Ghidora, and there's precedent here for having different versions of a character fight themselves. But at the end of the day even he got taken down by Mothra (who would also lay a vicious smack down on Voltron.)

Yeah but this isn't just a 100,000 ton monster. This is Ghidora. If Godzilla is Elvis, Ghidora's like Sinatra. Voltron's like Ricky Nelson.

Great job you guys. I ejoyed this one immensely. A special round of applause for Crazychris. He did a very good job against what was probably an unbeatable opponent given the available selection of Final Frontiers characters.

No one's unbeatable, Thrawn. There was a way to win this and I just didn't figure out what it was (I still haven't, but there is always a way to win). I'm not a monster movie guy so I probably just couldn't grasp the appeal of Ghidorah enough to counter it. I watched Final Wars before this fight went up and I was so bored that I actually did work on my laptop while the video ran. The monster fights are always fun (except when they used CGI monsters, ew) but the "human story" (if that's what you can call it) is tedious and nonsensical. I liked the older movies as a kid but I don't think they can recreate the campy charm of those movies. Bad dubs, cheesy effects, and etc. are great when there's a gloss of nostalgia over it, but you just can't capture that in a movie made in the present day. I should be predisposed to liking this stuff because I grew up watching Power Rangers, and that was chock full of giant Japanese monsters, but for some reason I just cannot get into the Godzilla-type movies.

Great job to George on coming up with a character that I couldn't deal with. I think this was the first time I've lost a fight as the challenger.

Yeah the back stories in these flicks can really drag. Agreed. Sometimes they at least throw in a hot chick or two to make it a tad more interesting. Sometimes they don't.

Perhaps. Under the current criteria, Ghidorah is pretty close though. I actually had an idea for a counter to Keizer Ghidorah that would have been allowed in Final Frontiers. I don't know if it would have worked, but it would have been fun.

That's pretty much the only thing I like about monster movies...the monsters.

Bad dubs, cheesy effects, and etc. are great when there's a gloss of nostalgia over it, but you just can't capture that in a movie made in the present day.
