FINAL FRONTIERS - May 27th - June 10th, 2011

In the grand tradition of such past events as Halloween Havoc! and Brawlapalooza, Friendly Fire Fight Club is proud to announce a new and exciting upcoming event - FINAL FRONTIERS.

So how does it work?

The theme for this event is space characters, i.e. characters either originating from other galaxies, planets, etc. and/or who also operate primarily in space.



SPECIAL RULES:

1.) No Jedi/Sith. If we allowed Jedi or Sith then 3/4 of the event would be just that. So they're off-limits for this event.
EDIT: This includes General Grievous. No lightsabers, no force powers... none.
2.) No psychic powers.
3.) No superheroes/supervillains (i.e. Marvel, DC, etc) even if they have alien origins/themes.
4.) In the interest of diversity, Droids are welcome.

The Final Frontiers event takes place during the current Friendly Fire season and all matches count as regular matches. And we will have a special host or hostess for the event as always.

So polish your blasters, brush up on your conversational Klingon and get ready to throw down interstellar-style.

Awesome. It sucks about no Jedi or Sith, but I understand the reasoning.

1. When is this going to happen roughly?

2. Are the fight locations going to be Earth themed? I personally think it would be better to have them all be other worldy.

3. Does this include characters like Superman or Green Lantern who are aliens and/or space based? Personally I'd prefer to keep it less super hero based (Superman, GL, etc) and more Sci-Fi-ish, but I'm cool with whatever you decide.

Nope, the locations will work same as usual. The "fish out of water" element that sometimes pops up is too much fun with the random locations.

You really should jump on this. Star Wars characters are still allowed, but there are many more characters that can be used to great effect: Marvin the Martian, Duck Dodgers, the alien, predator, Samus Aran (metroid), George Jetson, etc.

Events like this end up giving us some good diversity beyond the usual Marvel Comic characters that frequent Fight Club.

Sorry if I missed this... but does this mean that the only Friendly Fire Fights that will take place during that week and a half or so will be for this event?
