Bear with my images in these posts. I have no scanner so I used my cell phone camera. A lot of the pics turned out upside down or sideways. They still get the points across, though.
EDIT: I am concealing the images to make this page a little more manageable.
PHASE I pt. 2 (BOY BLUE 101!!!!!)
Because this is a Marvel Board, I suspect not everyone who might be voting has read Fables. For that reason, I'll explain a little about what we're dealing with when it comes to Boy Blue and why he will easily kill Spiral and give Doom a good distraction.
Boy Blue is a Fable. Fables are immortal, magical beings from different planes of existence who have come to our world to live among us in secret. Even though they have lived unnoticed on Earth for over two hundred years, their magic is so great that it has seeped into the subconscious of the human race and inspired our folklore. Boy Blue, although he has a meek exterior, is one of the most powerful and dangerous Fables of all. He is known as a hero among the Fables, and is so legendary that he has inspired a new religion among the Fables.
Blue, like all Fables, is several hundred years old and he has been fighting for nearly all of that time. He is therefore the single most experienced and skilled combatant on this battlefield. What's more, he carries with him two all-powerful artifacts that perhaps make him the most deadly fighter out of anyone in this fight. It's really hard to capture just how unstoppable he is in a few pictures. You really have to read Fables vol. 6 to get a sense for how he can travel from world to world, literally killing thousands in his wake. Consider this an understated summary of his powers.
I'll start with the Witching Cloak. The Witching Cloak was created long ago by the villain known as Mister Dark. Mister Dark is the inspiration for every story of the Boogeyman or similar unknown, dark being told in every human culture. To give you an idea of how powerful he is, it took an army of BILLIONS of fighters and A MILLION sorcerers just to wear him down enough so that he could be magically imprisoned. Keep in mind, this is a world where fighters and magic users have hundreds of years to practice their craft, and it still took those kinds of numbers to bring him down. And even then, he wore their numbers down to just a few by the end.
Mister Dark imbued the Witching Cloak with his power. He used it as a magic bag to drop his victims into infinite darkness…
Long after Mister Dark was imprisoned, Boy Blue came into possession of the Witching Cloak during the last battle against a charging army before the Fables escaped the homelands. He has since spent HUNDREDS OF YEARS experimenting with the Witching Cloak and learning its powers. He has said that if he knew then what he knows now about the Witching Cloak, he could have defeated that army single handedly. Here's why:
It lets him teleport across any distance, including into other dimensions…
It holds an infinite carrying capacity. Blue is basically a suped up version of Marvel's Cloak in this way, only there is no limit to how much he can carry in his cloak. He has used it to transport supplies and dispatches to different fronts of a war…
He can summon the cloak to him by saying the magic word, even if it is contained in a highly powerful magical forcefield…
The cloak grants a high degree of invulnerability. It can protect against weapons or, if need be, it is strong enough to bind a dragon's mouth shut until the dragon explodes from the fire breath contained within it.
Only extremely potent magic items can pierce it. In 100 issues, the only thing we've seen damage the cloak is a magic arrow that took "a dozen warlocks over fifty years to make"…
Even then, Blue had the reflexes to block the arrow with his arm and managed to fight an entire war with the injury. The other team has only two magic-users, and they sure as hell don't have fifty years, nor the multiple centuries of experience that Fables warlocks have.
Blue can also use the cloak to shape shift into anything, including impersonating specific individuals…
Or destroy anything stored inside of it…
Or become invisible...
Next, Blue's second magical weapon is the Vorpal Sword. The Vorpal Sword's enchantment causes it to instantly strike and kill anything it is swung at. Although it helps that it is in the hands of someone with centuries of fighting under his belt, the skill of the wielder doesn't really matter because the sword's magic does the fighting for you. It never, I repeat it NEVER misses. A monkey can clumsily toss the sword in the general direction of an extremely powerful witch and decapitate her instantly. I only use this as an example because IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED…
Let me back up and tell you some things about the woman decapitated in that image. That is Baba Yaga, the witch of Russian folklore. In Fables, she is a MULTIVERSAL THREAT. She can take on entire armies of monsters and wizards on her own…
…And cast spells that magically kill all life in vast, cavernous areas…
Yet a monkey with the vorpal sword killed her. Damn. In Blue's hands, the weapon is even more dangerous than that.* We've seen it cut clean through heavily armored humans, magical weapons, even magical horses…
The crowning achievement is that Blue used it to decapitate the Emperor, twice. Who is the Emperor? He's the big guy over here…
He's powerful enough to withstand blasts capable of wiping out armies…
His neck is made of solid wood, so Blue can basically cut through a redwood in one stroke. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. The Emperor was fortified with invulnerability spells. The level of magical protection was this: hundreds of sorcerers casting spells for months. Yet Blue's sword bypassed those spells as if they weren't even there…
The Vorpal Sword does have an upper limit. The one time it has failed to kill someone was when that target had protective spells cast on him over the course of ONE THOUSAND YEARS…
So, which of the following can withstand the Vorpal Sword?
Protective spells cast by countless immortal sorcerers over a thousand years? YES.
Protective spells cast by hundreds of immortal sorcerers over months? NO.
Protective spells cast by two MORTAL sorcerers (Doom and Spiral) in minutes? HELL FREAKING NO.
Spiral doesn't survive this fight. The very thought of her fighting Blue is comical. I give Doom a little more respect. Even though he technically isn't as powerful as beings killed by Blue or the Vorpal Sword or both together in the past, he's Doom so I won't say he dies right away. I can't say HOW Doom lasts more than a second because Blue has killed worse in less time than that, but I just think Doom deserves the benefit of the doubt. Even though realistically Blue would destroy him. But at the very least Doom is kept occupied long enough for Magneto to get a free moment to crush Doom's metal armor.
To be perfectly honest, if it weren't for Phoenix I could conceivably say Blue could win this fight by himself. With a dream team of Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Kyle Rayner, and Magneto at his back, this is an easy, easy call.
*And if the sword in Blue's hand doesn't capture your imagination, imagine what freaking MAGNETO could do with it with his powers. Instant death could fly over the battlefield and end this fight in mere seconds. I won't rely on this argument because this fight should be a little more interesting than that, but it is something to fall back on. Magneto + Vorpral Sword could literally dice everyone in this fight in a few seconds and there isn't a damn thing anyone could do about it. Phoenix could not do the same thing with her telekinesis because of Blue's ability to summon the sword back to him.
