Since the battlefield is in Hollywood, California, I don't see where cold temperatures would factor in at all.

Why the hell does he keep getting eaten by Sarlaacs? Once I can see happening. Twice is weird, but ok. But THREE TIMES? Why doesn't he use his jetpack to just fly over them?

Cold temperatures would factor in if Fett used an ice gun or lured her into the freezer of the theatre.

As for the Salraac trips.

After JEDI, there was a Marvel Comic issue where got out but due to amnesia and a runaway sandcrawler, wound up back in at the end of the issue.

DARK EMPIRE came and had Fett reveal her survived again...but then Bantham Books did an "untold tale" about his survival occuring concurrently with JEDI, which meant he somehow fell in again between the Marvel issue and the end of the Bantham short story.

Boba Fett because...it's Boba Fett. No one messes with the Fett Man.

Seriously, how man y men are as feared as him throughout the galaxy?

Fully powered Samus has boots that let her jump as high as she wants to plus a move that lets her jump horizontally for an infinite distance. She doesn't have Fett's maneuverability in the air, but she does have a lock-on ability that lets her keep flying enemies in her sights without failure. Most of the enemies she fights, and kills, are airborne. Plenty have jetpacks.
BertoneBeatle wrote:Saying this...

Besides, it takes a cybernetic pterodactyl blowing up a space station to damage her suit.

then saying this...

I don't care if Boba Fett killed Godzilla with his pinky

...doesn't add up.

he just doesn't have Samus's firepower

That's debatable.

Besides Fett could survive the temperatures of Hoth. According to a few sites I've read, no way Samus could. Obviously we are not on Hoth...but I'm sure the theatre has a freezer..

The two statements add up because cybernetic pterodactyls > Godzilla. It is not debatable whether Samus has more firepower than Fett. She holds a payload of dozens of guided missiles that she can launch from her arm canon. She has a weapon that freezes anything it hits into a block of ice that can be shattered along with the enemy trapped inside with a missile attack. She can call in her own ship, which is at least as powerful as the Slave 1, by remote for an airstrike.

Also, a theatre freezer would not stop Samus. First of all, she would not be lured in there to begin with because her suit can scan temperatures. She also has thermal vision and x-ray vision. Second, she can survive temperatures far colder than a human's freezer. Metroid Prime has an ice level with an environment similar to Hoth. There's even a boss who is an ice monster, which she kills. The weakness against ice you're mentioning probably refers to her vulnerability to attacks that freeze her in a solid block of ice and require the player to mash buttons to break her free. Considering that Samus is capable of surviving the temperature of SPACE without freezing, the freeze attacks that do slow her down have to be incredibly cold, colder than anything Boba Fett has available. And even then the freezing is just a slow down. AND even if the freezer is colder than space she could just blow her way out of it with a missile!

That is impressive, but it sounds like he merely survived Darth Vader and didn't outright beat him.

Go with the person who fought and killed Jedi's during the Great Purge. Also Wookiees.

Killing Wookies isn't impressive right now. Samus could gun down boatloads of Wookies. She's used to fighting giant monsters, heavily armored pirates, and parasites that drain life itself. And wasn't Fett a little kid during the Great Purge?

Go with the person who survived three trips down the throat of a Sarlaac (only one aside from Zorba known).

If Samus was swallowed by a Sarlaac, she would roll into a ball, drop a bomb, and get spit out. This is a tactic she regularly uses on monsters very similar to the Sarlaac.

Go with the person who can actually survive cold temperatures.

As I said before, Samus has floated around in space without dying. She also regularly walks around in volcanoes. Temperature is not a problem for her when she's at full power.

Go with the person who led an army against the Vong.

You got me there. As far as I know, Samus has never led an army. She usually just takes on entire planets full of hostile alien warriors by herself.
Thrawn wrote:
Boba Fett has the Slave 1 on remote. He could easily call it in to even the odds against Samus if he felt it was necessary. He has done this on multiple occasions.

Like I said, Samus also has a ship she can call in. In Metroid Prime 3, she uses it to blast apart huge rock and metal barriers. Her ship at least matches the Slave 1.

Maybe Fett's the scariest guy in a galaxy populated by Jar Jar Binks and teddy bear tribes, but Samus comes from a place where there are aliens powerful enough to contaminate entire planets with radioactive material, and she kills them by herself.

Fett's got that covered. Again, read the EU. See the Vong. They're planet destroying nasties.

SAMUS WAS ONLY WEAK TO ICE IN THE LAST METROID GAME!

IN HER NORMAL POWER SUIT, like now

THAT DOESN'T FACTOR IN!!!!

sORRY...Needed to get that out there

I'm AMAZED it's this close

1. Fett may be good in hand-to-hand combat, but Samus is EXTREMELY agile, and wouldn't let him near her

See I don't understand how Boba stands a chance... most of his weapons are going to do very little damage to Samus' Power Suit
The only one I can see doing damage is the missile on his back... But Samus has taken MASSIVE FIREBALLS from a cybernetic pterodactyl and is ok. She'd be shaken but not out.. and that's assuming it hit her. Remember, I'd say she is on par with Spidey in terms of agility

2. Now let's look at her weapons
Her Power beam is a decent weapon, and if she charges up her Ice beam she can freeze Fett
Her Wave Beam? One charged up shot and Fett is electrocuted
The Plasma Beam... it would literally melt him

Plus she has lots and lots of MISSILES. And Super Missiles, which are more powerful then missiles. Boba has one. Samus has 255

All She has to do is BOMBARD him with missiles and he's dead
Hit him with a few charged up beams... he's dead

If she keeps bombarding him he's screwed, and anything he tries to hit her with she can dodge
If he tries to dodge her... she can just lock on to him and fire away
Remember, she kills a Gigantic fire-spewing Pterodactyl ALL the Time. Boba Fett... not so tough considering the threats she deals with

She could take down the Sarlacc fairly easily

3. IF Fett Somehow managed to get hand-to-hand with Smaus... she could just do the Screw Attack- a somersault that literally CUTS THROUGH people. Fett would be cut in half, and quite dead

So in conclusion: Samus strategy: Dodge if needed, then lock on to Fett and Blast the crap out of him with missiles and charged beams
And remember ICE DOES NOT HURT HER. This isn't post-Fusion Samus since she is wearing her classic Power Suit
And if hand-to-hand is somehow achieved (something I DO NOT see happening.. Screw Attack takes him down)

Sorry for the triple post, but I need to clarify the not weak to ice thing

In the latest Metroid game (from a chronological standpoint) Samus was knocked unconscious and infected with X-Parasites (They're...well... parasites). In order to save her, Her suit had to be surgically taken off and she was given Metroid DNA (hence the ice weakness- Metroids are weak to ice)

When that happened she looked like THIS
Image

NOT This:
Image

Remember, we are using the CLASSIC version of the characters- That would be Samus in her Power Suit, without Metroid DNA, and thus not weak to ice

And as for the suit "malfunctioning"

It has only happened Twice to my knowledge: Once it was due to a creatures attack, and the other time Ing (aliens- don't ask) had taken her abilities and she had to fight to get them back. It's only used as a way of having the gamer collect upgrades as the game goes on... and it has only happened twice. Not a factor here, as the suit doesn't just freeze up randomly (hope that clears things up :) )

Surviving a confrontation with Vader is a pretty big deal.

Currently tied! As much as I like Boba and he is a bad ass, I think he is out gunned and she can out move him too. He has a jet pack but he really isn't that nimble and she can shoot him out of the sky with a missle. Her armor also seems superior.

But, if prior posts are to be believed, Fett went against the Vong with an army at his back. This time he's alone against a one-woman army. In every game Samus gets dropped onto a planet and kills everything in sight there, including creatures and elite alien warriors that can do far more damage than Fett. She kills scores upon scores of them.

I'm assuming you meant to say "Her armor also seems superior"
Well the armor is connected TO her... it's not just a peice of clothing... It's PART of her... plus again Samus takes hits from most things I don't think Fett can (Like a giant fireball or a huge spike that would normally impale someone). I'd say it's stornger then Fett's

One-Woman army is a pretty good word to describe Samus

You're comparing to different methodologies. Godzilla is not out to just destroy Tokyo. It varies. Either way that's completely irrelevant to the ridiculous comparison of Godzilla to cyborg pterodactlys. Because of his mutated dna Godzilla is nearly indestructible. It was a woefully inept comparison. That was my point. But that probably is a discussion best left for another Friendly Fire match.

CrazyChris wrote:But, if prior posts are to be believed, Fett went against the Vong with an army at his back

True. He's still fighting them himself. So I think it's really irrelevant.
