Answers:
(1) Too long. This one was an unholy shitstorm of distractions, illness, and procrastination. It took me forever to do the faces, and for a couple I just had to give up and use headgear to hide my inability at drawing accurate likenesses.![]()
(2) YES! It's not as hard as it looks -- as with a lot of my backgrounds lately, I built a model in SketchUp first and then printed out an image of it to lightbox. Detail is added on top of that (in this case, the vaulted ceiling, columns around windows, the painting, and shadowing were not in the model and added by me later). SketchUp is a great tool that's catching on with a few pros like Stuart Immonen, Leinil Yu, and even Joe Quesada, and I always suggest that people should check it out.

And c'mon ... there's enough of bdog to go around. If we have to, we can even try to clone him, or at least build a robot to take his place in school.
