That article came out in 2009, and it's now 2012. I see no further developments Don, I doubt we'll ever see a direct sequel to the abomination that was Evolution.

Ohhh thank Christ almighty!

As a child of the 90s I adore Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z although I've recently come to love One Piece too. for some strange strange reason Luffy's fighting style reminds me of Spidey as well

I really enjoyed "death note". I caught the first few manage from a friend and it took off from there. Then saw the tv series and ordered the live a tion movies after that. The movies are extremely well done and are highly recommended.
Also am a huge "one piece" fan. We have Anime North here in Toronto and I'm always cycling through one piece characters with my fiancé. She's one good looking Luffy I must say lol also does a mean Boa

Wall Crawler? Have you seen mostly subbed or dubbed episodes of OP? Have you seen the recent Fishman Island stuff?

BigAl!
I've seen the entire series! The English dub ends early in the series so I just watch with subtitles. I'll grab a link for you when I'm on my computer. When luffy learns hakai, shit gets real lol

Wall_Crawler I've seen the series myself.

I started witht he subs because I knew the dub only goes so far (plus the specials and movies aren't dubbed)

What was your fav arc and movie?

Mine was Strong World and probably thew Water 7 arc combined witht he eneis lobby arc. I simply cannot choose? Also Zoro is awesome [smilie=spidey_cheers.gif]

Water 7 was bananas!!!! Fish man island will always have a special place in my heart though lol
Zoro is the king of badass but Luffy will always be my #1 with Frankie in a close second. I'm a sucker for fire power lol

Was randomly looking up One Piece today, didn't know it's been going since 1997. That's pretty cool, I may get into it sometime.

Hey Donovan if your a Dragon Ball fan I think you'll like One Piece. Oda, the creator, is basically a massive Toriyama fanboy, he considers Dragon ball as a major influence for One Piece and there are lots of parallells between the two shows (Im a massive DB fan too). If you want I can give you watching list of what to watch first with One Piece

One piece would be a great series to get into for a dragon ball fan boy. The fights are pretty epic especially later in the more recent episodes when Luffy destroys the PX5 with one punch. Hakai FTW!

To me Haki is sorta OP's version of ki or chakra or Bankai. Every shonen anime gets to that eventually. My fav fight just bcos he is such a badass was the Luffy vs Crocodile battles. there are bigger fights later on but Crocodile is just such a pimp

I read a lot of statements citing that the creators of Naruto and One Piece were heavily inspired by Dragon Ball and Toriyama's style in general. I should probably get into those series because of that, but I'm very very lazy on those types of things...

I mean I like the visual style of One Piece, and it looks fun. I think after DBGT ended in America, that was the last of my general interest in shonen franchises, but that was when I was in high school. Plus, I still very much read Hajime No Ippo. I might give One Piece and Naruto a shot...

I say go for it, I don't think you'd be disappointed :)
Also, if you get your hands on Death Note and some Escaflowne I think it'll pleasantly surprise you. I mis the old Escaflowne cartoons

Oh I've read Death Note! That currently is the manga to beat for the most gripping, intelligent series I've ever read.
