Re: Podcast # 490 Slott Exit, What Did You think?

From the beginning intro song, ("Happy Days Are Here Again...") to the very end, this was a very enjoyable podcast! I liked JR's take on Slott leaving the book. There is not any true joy on someone leaving when you are unsure how Marvel is moving forward. Many of the Spider-Man "resets" have not bee...

Re: What Will Dan Slott's Legacy Be?

What I find irritating is why does each new writer think Spider-Man or Peter Parker is somehow broken? Instead I notice with each new "reboot" of ASM, we get further and further away from the core character. ASM was built on the premise of Spider-Man being it could be ANYONE. A person that is respo...

Re: What Will Dan Slott's Legacy Be?

At my LCS recently there was discussion about Slott leaving. Most thought he was a decent writer that had OK ideas, but it had a feel of a Saturday Morning Cartoon. Only 1 person enjoyed his recent Parker Industries storyline, (he is also a big Iron Man fan...) but most were glad to see someone else...

Re: Why are Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson such a popular couple?

Quite a few excellent posts already written about why they are such a popular couple. In addition, to their history, organic development and how they compliment each other, there is something more for this reader. They are believable and it starts from THE beginning of their relationship. No, not th...

Re: Can You Live With An Unmarried Peter and MJ?

The answer for me is a resounding NO. I tried the new format for approx. 50 issues, but OMD and Bland New Verse combined made me drop ASM. I stayed on Ultimate, and I do enjoy Renew Your Vows, but I stay away from ASM. The good news is, the Slott run is super cheap on back issues. So when he leaves ...

Re: David Michelinie reveals some new info on the Wedding Annual

Since I was in college, I was actually not reading comics for a couple years, when a comic shop opened on campus and the poster was ASM Annual #21. I was convinced it had to be a "What If" story and there was a gimmick of some sort. I still picked it up and thought the story was OK, but it was enoug...

Good job BD! Fonts are a bit bolder and easier to read and it still has the silly "Smilies".

Keep up the good work!

BD, I come to Crawlspace probably every weekend and check things out. I find myself commenting on things less and less...

But rest assured, I am "watching"...

No wonder Stan Lee was so effective. He had a clean slate to work with...but is mostly responsible for this list!

Either way, nicely done! [smilie=spidey_clap.gif]

Re: Let's look at the sales figures of Spider titles

Businesses thrive on multiple revenue streams. That way if one goes down, they have another stream coming in to balance it out. So, for example, if bookstore sales or online sales are sluggish, a good boost in the regular comic sales can carry them for the time being. It is my understanding the boo...

Re: Podcast #474-Spider-History What Did You Think?

I just had to comment on this podcast, since July of 1979 is when I truly became a "comic collector". Before then, I dabbled in picking up books here and there, but it was with ASM #194 that it really took root. Not only did I get ASM# 194, I also picked up MTU#83, Marvel Tales #105, FF#208 and the ...

Re: Everything Wrong With The Doctor Strange Movie

As a Spider-Man fan and witnessing firsthand on how Hollywood botched my favorite wallcrawler on the silver screen, I came into the Doctor Strange movie with major reservations. Although I do not attest to being a huge fan of Doctor Strange, I have several dozen of his books and am very familiar wit...
