THE X-MEN & SPIDER-MAN:
TIME'S ARROW TRILOGY
The Past by Tom DeFalco & Jason
Henderson
The Present by Tom DeFalco & Adam-Troy Castro
The Future by Tom DeFalco & eluki bes shahar
Well
I was skeptical if Defalco would translate well in prose. Not only
does he work well, but he rocks. This trilogy is one of the most
fun reads I have read in a long time. There are tons of inside
Marvel continuity jokes, especially in the 2nd book.Who would of
thought RazorBack and Irving Forbush would ever make it in a
Marvel Novel. The guest appearances don't stop there. We have the
New Warriors, Spider-Girl,X-Men 2099, the Two Gun Kid,and I think
Peter Porker was even here.
Bishop and Spidey got teamed up and were lost in a bizarre world
in the first two books and their chemisty is fun to read. Bishop
is one of my least favorite X-People,but Defalco,Henderson, and
Castro write one heck of a story.I never thought I would like
that guy. One of the highlights of the second novel was Spidey
meeting the "Park". Read the book to know who the
"Park" is.Great stuff!
The only lacking thing I found was in the third novel. It seemed
to loose it's steam that was building over the the two previous
novels. Sitll it was great to see Iron Man 2020,and most of all
Spider-Girl,aka May Parker. All in all I'm giving this trilogy
three and a half Spidey heads out of four. It would of gotten
four if it hadn't had lacked in pacing in the third book.
